This verse caught my eye because I consider myself a very blessed woman. I have the privilege to worship my God, a wonderful family, a healthy little girl, and a husband who loves me unconditionally. These are things that make us blessed not the materialistic things.

Time with Daddy

Time with daddy is precious and when we are all three together as a family we make the most of it. With Jason working and traveling so much, we have grown to appreciate our time together so much more. You never realize how much you take for granted until you are apart and if anyone can do it, we are the perfect pair. We had our fair share of long distance while dating and we made it through solid as a rock. Once again we find ourselves apart, but stronger than ever. Jason makes sure Avery knows he loves her and does everything when he is home; bath time, putting her to bed, picks her up early to go to the park, and keeps her home from "school" to have daddy-daughter days. I love that she has Jason as her daddy because he is such a good leader of our family and role model for her to look up to. I will say this, I have a new found respect for single parents and I tip my hat to those who parent alone. I could not imagine my life without Jason and the parenting he does when comes home. I am very lucky to have him. In the last month we have many family outings and I wanted to post my two favorite. A few weeks ago, we had a couple of beautiful days with great weather. We took advantage of it and spent the afternoon at the Arboretum; one of my favorite places. The sound of Avery being chased by Jason was music to my ears. I got to lay back and soak up the sun literally. That sounds funny to say in January, but it was so nice. I could do that everyday!

This past weekend Avery and I drove to McAlister, Oklahoma and spent the day with Jason. It was a jeans, sweatshirt, and teeny shoes kind of day. We hiked up to Robbers Cave, Avery in tow, and had a wonderful day. The weather was chilly but we soon warmed up after climbing to the top. We really enjoyed being outside and doing something different. Avery loved it! She kept saying "walk" meaning she wanted down. There were a few places she could walk, but other than that she had to be carried due to the drop-offs. This was a really neat place!

I am giving myself a challenge, on top of everything else. I want to post a verse each week. This is very important to me though, so it may be Thursday before I get it up, but it will be posted.

Right now I am facing a heavy heart with trying to decide to continue to work or take a few years off to be with my sweet baby girl and work on my master's. I know that in three to four years this opportunity will be the past with Avery starting school, so I am handing all my uncertainties over to God and I pray the answers will come to me. I am thankful for my supportive husband and will do my best to not stress or worry over these decisions. I will do my best to live every day to it's fullest. I posted on my facebook tonight the highlight of my day:

My sweet baby asked to see the stars before getting in the bath. So for about ten minutes we laid in the floor of her room, lights out, and her turtle on that projects the stars and moon. I love the little things! I am blessed beyond measure to be her momma!

Happy New Year's 2012

Avery and I rang in the New Year with my cousin Jennifer, her husband Blake, and his sister's and their families! Jason had to work so I was pretty bummed that he was not with us. However we had fun visiting and had an excellent dinner. Lindsay and Charles, Blake's sister and brother-in-law have a little girl, Emory, who is three months older than Avery and the girls had a blast playing together! We were so thankful to have family and friends to celebrate another year with! We got to see daddy for the first time this year on January 4, 2012!

Happy 20 Month Birthday Sweet Girl

Well again I find myself battling to get your 20 month post written. Partly due to recovering from Christmas and the other part due to not wanting to be this close to your 2nd Birthday. How can those words come out of my mouth. You are growing like a weed both in height, your word recognition, and your understanding. You are independent and very head strong. This month you decided that you no longer liked high-chairs. Great! That was my first thought. However, you have successfully sat in booster seats and when you are at home you sit at your little table your cousin Tucker gave you. If I had a song that represented you each month, the song for this month would be I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T by Webbie. Your vocabulary now includes: I wuv you mommy/daddy/who ever else, out (referring to get out of the car), jump (on your new trampoline), walk (no longer want to be carried), NO (I despise this word and despite the fact that I know this is a stage, I still cringe when you say this), up (referring to what you want mommy and daddy to do if we are sitting down), Peasssss mommy, Peasssssss daddy (you know how to work the system, in your sweet little voice, you say this all the time), "tissue" (this is your version of Thank you. LOVE IT!), Jesus, stars, moon, jacket, hat, and at this point I am drawing a blank. You understand pretty much everything I say and at this age you are like a sponge; you soak up everything you hear and see. You play babies, you cook (we have had many tea parties, cloth donuts, and you serve up a great sample of Scentsy (I gave her my old samples and she now uses it at her kitchen!)), and you love all your Little People stuff you got for Christmas.

You love shoes and you always check to see if you have a bow in your hair! You recognize all your articles of clothing and your eyes, ears, hair, hands, feet, belly button, nose, mouth, tongue, arm, and leg. You love your sissy (Maddie) and you give great hugs and kisses! You are a great little helper when it comes to cleaning up, putting things away, taking sissy her food bowl (which you love to do this!), and carrying things in from the car! You love to tulor (color), sing, and be outside. You got to go back to Sea World this month and loved looking at all the Christmas lights. I just knew you would go into depression when the Christmas lights and trees came down, but you have not asked about them yet. The pure joy you had for Christmas decorations was awesome! You love to wear to mommy's perfume, lip gloss, and lotion. I have already planned out your 2nd Birthday and it is going to be you all the way.........Minnie!

Beware: A super long post is up ahead.

So Christmas is my all time favorite holiday and I like things to go pretty much the way I have planned. Well, that did not happen this year. We had lots of rearranging and changing of plans. After reflecting on all the pictures I came to the realization that everything was just fine, even with a few changes. We got to spend a ton of time with family and for that I am thankful. So here it goes........I will include pictures at the end.

Thursday, December 22 we had our day planned out. Finish a few things around the house, pick up a few more presents, and then home to start our Christmas baking. Then the phone rings. It was Jason's work calling him in on Christmas morning from 5:30am to 5:30pm. I was crushed. Avery's first Christmas to really get the whole Santa leaving her presents, wrapping paper, etc. There was no option, he had to go. So then I had to put my big girl panties on, that is after I cried for a good hour, and start making plans. First on the agenda was calling Santa Claus. He had to know that we were placing a special request for him to see a special little girl have her Christmas "Eve" morning. Everything got moved up a day. Santa was more than happy to come a day early for little Avery. So I got home and tried to finish everything I could to get in order.

Friday, December 23 we went to Sherman to have Christmas with Jason's dad and brother. The Glover's and the William's all meet for lunch and then went back to Papaw's house to open presents. It was a nice visit. Then we headed to my dad's parent's house for the Burrus Christmas. My grandma cooked dinner and we all opened presents. Avery had so much fun opening her gifts. After leaving my grandparents, we, along with my parents and Lindsey, drove out to Loy Lake to look at the Christmas lights. Then back to McKinney to put little Avery to bed so Santa could finally stop at our house! It was a late night for momma, getting the breakfast casserole ready and dipping the strawberries in the chocolate for breakfast! With the milk and cookies put in place, my head hit the pillow like a ton of bricks.

Saturday, December 24 Avery decided to sleep till like 10am. Of all mornings. We were literally pacing the floor waiting on her to wake up. I tried making noise in the kitchen hoping she would hear me upstairs. Nothing. When she finally woke up, we brought her downstairs, camera rolling, to watch her reaction. She ran into the living room and scoped everything out. She kind of looked at us like, "is this stuff for me".  After mommy and daddy looked everything over that Santa had brought we made a bet as to which present she would go after first. We both thought her new Daisy Duck stuffed animal, but she went for her new baby stroller. We got to spend all morning and early afternoon together after eating breakfast playing with all her toys and just enjoying each other. No where to rush off too. It was really nice. That evening we got all dressed up and went to Christmas Eve service. Gigi went with us. That night Jason went to bed early because he had to leave out by 4am. I wonder if he saw Santa flying around at that hour!

Sunday, December 25 Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus! Avery and I started our day off at Gigi and Papaw's house with all of Gigi's family. We had lunch, played with all the cousins, and then did our annual White Elephant gift exchange. It got pretty intense this year! After white elephant, all the kids opened their gifts. After leaving Gigi and Papaw's house, I took Avery home to take a nap.  A much needed nap! My parents and Lindsey came to our house to ride with us for our progressive dinner with my mom's side of the family. Jason was not suppose to get home till 7pm and he was going to meet up with us, but while on the phone with him at 5pm the garage door opens. My mom said, "who just opened the garage door?", and I instantly knew Jas was home. I love that he still surprises me! He got to enjoy the rest of the evening with us. We had appetizers at my cousin's new home, then dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's house, and then everyone came back to our house for desserts and presents. It was so much fun doing something different!
Monday, December 26 we headed back over to Gigi and Papaw's so Jason could spend time with his family. He missed spending time with them because he was at work. We had lunch and all exchanged gifts.  We spent the day lounging and letting the kids play. It was nice.

Even though plans changed, Christmas was celebrated when everyone was together. I thought to myself, is there ever going to be a Christmas where I remember everything, where we are not running around like crazy, where we get to go and do everything we planned on doing (like not getting to go see Shrek the Halls or ride the Polar Express with our friends). And I came to the conclusion, probably not. The holidays are always going to be hectic, but I will always slow down and remember why we celebrate; it is not for the food, gifts, or decorations. It is for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and that is why we have what we have. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas celebrating with your families and Happy New Year!

The first week we were off for break we decided to take Avery to Sea World one last time for the year with our passes. It was also nice because Jason's sister, Jennifer, and her family live there and we stayed with them. All the cousins got to play and hang out. The first night we went down to the Riverwalk, ate at The Rainforest Cafe, and then went to see the Alamo. A San Antonio must if you know me! The next day we went to Sea World and got to see all the decorations and Christmas themed shows. It was great weather, a little chilly, but cool enough for a light jacket.

Tech Pom Christmas Party 2011

Hilary hosted the party this year and it was so good to see some faces we have not seen in awhile, meet some new faces, and catch up with old friends. We always have so much fun together, but unfortunately not everyone could be there due to crazy schedules at Christmas time. We did not exchange gifts, just played with babies and reminisced.

Everyone brought a dessert and thanks to Pinterest, this is what I brought. Santa hats, made with brownies, whipped icing, and strawberries. Avery loved them!

Just a few thoughts

No pictures for this post, just wanting to share a few things.

First, I know the movie and the book have been out for ages, but I just saw the movie this weekend while sitting on the couch. THE HELP is one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long time. I laughed, cried, shook my head in disbelief, and I have not stopped thinking about it all weekend. Everyone needs to see this movie.

Secondly, my poor baby has been sick with a nasty cold. We have been on a roller coaster of off and on fever, deep coughing, and a nose that I cannot seem to catch. Her poor little upper lip is raw along with her nose and I hate cleaning it out. She stayed home Thursday and Friday and now she is staying home again on Monday. I pray she shakes this cold soon because I am a mess with stress and worry about several things.

Thirdly, I pray that my sister does well tomorrow after her surgery. She is having an internal recording device placed in her chest to try to get a better idea of what is causing all her arrhythmia issues. The device is not permanent so please keep her in your prayers.

Lastly, I pray for holidays. My heart has been heavy with knowing how many Angels have not been taken off the tree and how many people will go without this year due to many different circumstances. I wish I had all the power in the world to make everyone comfortable on cold nights like tonight, but all we can do is pray for those in need. In need of heat, a jacket, a warm meal, or just someone to talk to. I thank my Heavenly Father each and everyday for the man who loves me unconditionally, the healthy baby that calls me momma, the family that cares about me, the job that I have that comes with some of the greatest co-workers, for those who consider me a friend, the roof over my head, the clothes on my back, and the food on my table. I recognize each and everyday how blessed I am and I am grateful for that.

I want to always instill the true meaning of Christmas in Avery and have her experience the excitement that I get with just seeing our home decorated for the holidays or the playing of Christmas music shortly after Halloween! It truly is the Spirit of Christmas that makes me happy, not what lies under the tree.

Not the greatest quality coming from my phone, but I love this picture. Avery stood in line reaching for him and calling out, "Santa" with pure joy. That is until we crossed to the red velvet carpet. Then it all changed. She turned to dart off and I said "I don't think so!". After failed attempts of sitting on a rocking horse in front of him, the big man said, "Ok, momma, sit in the chair and hold her". I'm thinking to myself, I do not want to be in the picture. In the photo, I am holding her, leaning back and hoping to go unseen! This is the Stonebriar Santa and he is awesome! We did not shed a tear, just a few death grips! Her face is what is so funny, because as her mom and dad, we have never seen this particular smile. It seems a little forced if you ask me! She did great and I was more than pleased with our visit! She waved, blew him a kiss, and told him "Santa's washing youuuuuuuu!" in the sweetest voice!

My Aunt Kim sent me this and I wanted to share it on our blog. I pray that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.

I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even dummies know that!"
My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her "world-famous" cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.

Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. "No Santa Claus?" she snorted...."Ridiculous! Don't believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let's go."

"Go? Go where, Grandma?" I asked. I hadn't even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun. "Where" turned out to be Kerby's General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money," she said, "and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then she turned and walked out of Kerby's.

I was only eight years old. I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.

For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for.

I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church.

I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock's grade-two class. Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn't have a cough; he didn't have a good coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat!
I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.
"Is this a Christmas present for someone?" the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. "Yes, ma'am," I replied shyly. "It's for Bobby."

The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn't get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Christmas paper and ribbons and wrote, "To Bobby, From Santa Claus" on it.
Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker's house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially, one of Santa's helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobby's house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, "get going."

I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.

Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven't dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker's bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were -- ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.

Avery is obsessed with the Disney characters. Particularly Minnie and Daisy! So daddy decided to get us three tickets to see Disney on Ice in Allen. Unfortunately he was called back to work this past Monday and was unable to come in so our good friends MJ and MJ's mommy, Jill, came with us. We had so much fun watching the kids get so excited! I hated that Jason was not with us but I took as many pictures and videos that I could take with my spare hand!!!!!!! I felt like a true tourist; diaper bag across the chest, camera around the neck, and a frantic look on my face trying to capture everything! It was all worth it. I can't wait till she is ready for Disney World!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always said I will cry watching her experience the magic of Disney World.

Thursday night Avery named her Elf on the Shelf with mommy and daddy. She named it an orginal name; SANTA!!!!! She was very excited about it. And seriously, she has found it every morning since Thanksgiving. She seems a little apprehensive about it though, a little scared.

To get in the mood, she went home in her Christmas pajamas. She loved playing in her daddy's boots. Hard to believe she fit in one of those as a baby.

We have a lot to be thankful for. Jason DID get to come to Sherman for dinner Thursday night and spend a few hours with Avery and I. I am thankful for that time that our baby was with her two favorite people! She is a Daddy's girl!

Happy 19 Month Birthday!

So Avery has made us laugh through another month! This month has really had a lot of changes; new words, new faces, and new attitudes! I will say that Avery is really starting to understand more. Her vocabulary is taking off and I find myself mesmerized by her personality. All her stats from her 18 month post are the same as far as her diaper size, shoe size, clothes size, and teeth. It is her words that have increased.

Words: Momma, Daddy, Sissy, Nana, Poppa, Wuwu (Aunt Lulu), Gigi, Papaw, ball, dog, bye, slide, Weeeeeee, Wuv you, sorry, tank you, peas (please), No-no, juice (which is what you call milk), outside, food, flower, punkin, yummy, paci, night night, teef (teeth), brrrrr (and you put your arms around yourself and go side to side), Minnie and my two favorites that you started saying are Jesus and Santa! You are also starting to put words together like; bye sissy, sorry Santa (when you dropped your Frosty the Snowman on the ground), peas paci........you get the idea! NEW: ouch, sock, shoes, fast, bow, mine, Daisy (Disney), Santa is watching you (Her first full sentence!!!!!! In reference to her Elf on the Shelf.), momma's seat (talking about where I sit to drive), baby's seat, Avery's chair, ____________ shoes/chair/jacket (insert any name she can say and she has said it!), and Christmas Tree (I was pumped when she said this! Maybe my obsession with Christmas has rubbed of on her!) I will eventually only update the words that are new!!!!!!!!

Our girl is Jackal and Hyde! One minute she is squeezing your neck and giving you sugars and then the next she is saying "mine". She are really struggling with learning to share, which I know is normal, but once again I find myself taking it personal (what am I not doing, what am I doing wrong.........) I know in time this will pass.

You recognize so many things: nose, eyes, mouth, hair, ears, shoes, pants, shirt, sock, bows, blankie, most things like "behind you", "right there", etc. The list goes on!

We love you bunches and you will always be our sweet baby girl that likes to be close when cuddling and gives kisses with her mouth open!

Operation Christmas Child

Our church, Cottonwood Creek Baptist, participates in many different missionary projects for us to take part in. Jason and I decided to once again prepare boxes full of goodies to send to the charity for Operation Christmas Child. It is heart breaking to know that there are children out there that will only receive this box. I want Avery to always understand how blessed she is and that we, as a family, will always give back in thanks for what we have. So this year Avery put the boxes together. Note: Momma had to rearrange a few things so that everything would fit. She may not understand now, but I want her to understand how important it is to think of others and help make someone else happy.

I celebrated my 28th birthday on November 14th! It was super low key which is the way I like it. I went to dinner with my sweet husband, Avery, and my in-laws! The following day Jas and I were suppose to go out to eat and to the movies, but I came home so very sick and went to bed at 4pm. We will go out when he gets home for more than three days! Thanks for the cake, flowers, and jeans! You always know how to make me feel special!

I have been posting on facebook something I am thankful for each day. I wanted to also keep track of it on here by sharing with you. There are more than 30 things that I am thankful for, but I thought this was a great way to express what I am truly thankful for.

1. I am thankful for the sacrifices my husband makes to support our family as he left to go back to work at 4am this morning.
2. I am thankful for the ability to stay calm and a healthy baby.
3. I am thankful to be a mom.
4. I am thankful to be an American.
5.  I am thankful for good friends.
6.  I am thankful for my faith.
7. I am thankful for my family.
8.  I am thankful for a warm bed, the food on my table, the cloths on my back, and a roof over my head.

11. I am thankful for baby strollers. Which I did not get to use at the Houston Nutcracker Market. It is huge and I knew that I was not going to be able to use it. I had no idea how hard it was going to be.

13. I am thankful for the spirit of the holidays. I looked forward to all the family get togethers and laughs.
14. I am thankful for another healthy and happy year! As I read my facebook messages I sat there in awe of how much love has been shown to me through birthday wishes and sweet posts. I had tears in my eyes just reading all of my family and friends posts who thought of me. Thank you to each and everyone of you. I am very blessed.
15. I am thankful for Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. We are blessed to be able to worship around such incredible people.

I was amazed at how many people decorated their homes........two haunted garages, a haunted dining room that you could view from the driveway, and a circus equipped with a clown giving out balloons, a bearded woman, a two-headed sister, the strongest man alive, and a pet lion! We had so much fun watching Avery totally soak up everything she saw!

Gigi and Papaw came along too! Gigi did not like how far we walked!

And then you have the yards with way too much stuff.......but I will say the kids loved it and had fun taking pictures with all the blowup things.

Another month of milestones, excitement, and pure joy has passed. I find myself thinking about the fun of Christmas, your theme for your 2nd birthday, and then I get mad at myself for rushing more days by! I need time to slow down. You are hoot right now! You "talk", run in circles around the house, and at the present moment everything related to Christmas is a Santa and it is still two months away! I laugh at your expressions, cry when I walk by your 12 months framed photos upstairs outside your room, and I thank God each night for your health and happiness and for choosing your daddy and I to be your parents. I cannot imagine life without you.

Cloths: 18 month mostly with a few 12 months

Teeth: 12 with four still trying to break through

Shoes: 5 to 5.5

Diapers: 4

You love to brush your teeth, you give the best hugs, and your kisses are wonderful! I love when you come lay your head on my lap or if I am sitting in the floor and you come up behind me and give me a big hug. You are still obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You get so excited when we go somewhere like Lowe's or Target and you see a Christmas tree, or a plane in the sky, or a hot air balloon (which occurs weekly where we live!). I love that you love the simple things! You took your first hayride and went Trick or Treating for the first time this past month. You listen so well and will clean up messes when I ask you to. We still have the occasional melt down or throwing ourselves to the ground when we are not getting our way. I have come to terms with it and that it is the age. Along with that comes lots of pray to stay calm and keep my patience. Thank you Love and Logic for your advice. I know there are a million things I am forgetting but hopefully I got them in your baby book! I love you. You are your mommy and daddy's pride and joy!

Today after church Daddy wanted to take Aves to Chucke Cheeses! She had a ball; although there was not a lot there age appropriate for her. She enjoyed running around looking at the games, driving the cars, and being terrified of Barney! Friday, October 28th my mom and I took Avery to Frisco's Safety Town to Trick or Treat. We meet my two friends from work, Kristina and Jill, their husbands and their kids; Karly and MJ there! We had a great time! The line was insane to get in but the kids did great! Hot dogs, rolling in the grass, and continuously telling them that we were almost to all the "yummies" got us through.

Sweet Husband

So I have been blogging like a mad woman this evening and wanted to recognize my sweet husband. Even though we took in the Centennial game against Frisco Thursday night, the Bearcat game Friday night, the Pumpkin Patch, the Dallas Arboretum, and Trick or Treating at Ghouls on the Lawn, my husband still made time and scheduled us a couples massage Friday evening before the Bearcat game. It was the only hour the entire weekend that we stopped and took time to relax. It was a great weekend with our families and with just us three and we enjoyed every minute of it!

By the way, The Centennial Titans won, The Bearcats won and kept the Axe in Sherman, The Red Raiders won, The Cowboys won, and the Rangers won on Sunday! What a great weekend for all of our sports teams!

Ghouls on the Lawn

We took Avery Trick or Treating last night at Ghouls on the Lawn in the Tucker Hill housing addition because Jason may not be home for Halloween. This neighborhood has the most awesomely decorated houses and they go all out with a DJ, petting zoo, movie on the lawn, band, pumpkin patch, and all the houses passing out candy! This year will be the first time, obviously, that she will be able to go trick or treating. Not only was she the cutest little duck on the block, but she was a pro at the whole trick or treating thing. Thank you Miss Holley for teaching her how to say it! She did great. No fear, just fun! I cannot express to you how fun it was watching her! She is the coolest thing that has every happened to Jason and I and we are so loving this age! We are having a ball!

Jason and I took Avery to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch again this year. Last year it rained on us, although we got lots of great pictures. This year we had a different challenge; a VERY mobile 18 month old! She was so excited to see more pumpkins and yes we took home three more! She had so much fun and we had fun watching her.

Sweet Avery

Pumpkin Carving and Stuff

I came home last Monday and Jason had a surprise for me! I hate to admit this, but I had never carved a pumpkin before last week. Never. He knew this was something I wanted to do last year, but we ran out of time so this year he made sure I got to carve a pumpkin. It is the small things in life, but Jason is really the greatest husband in the world! I had a great time!

I attended a "Stampin Up" Party the day the carpet was being installed and LOVED IT. I bought several little gadgets to have fun with and I can't wait to use them. Here are a few of the samples we made while attending the party. The hat was for Thanksgiving and the demonstrator gave the idea to have it at the kids table for dinner and make their table cloth out of butcher paper. Inside the cup is a Dixie cup to hold markers. While everyone is still eating the kids are being entertained with coloring their table cloth. Great idea!

My good friend Alisha Pemberton posted a fiery post about the college rivalry between A&M and Texas Tech. Let's get a few things straight. Classifying everyone as a "classless clown" is idiotic. A&M has had it's fair share of "classless acts" such as:
As quoted by Alisha Pemberton:
"I guess pouring urine from the upper deck into the Texas Tech section is okay at Kyle Field.

I guess Stealing Texas Tech's mascot and throwing orange paint on it in 1975, which the paint had lead therefore causing the horse to die of Lead Poisoning is okay.

I guess stealing Texas Tech band instruments, hats, and saddle tramp bells are okay?

These are all part of things that go on between rivals and are done by a very small number of people. This doesn't mean that every Aggie is "classless". I have many dear friends that are graduates of A&M and they are wonderful individuals.

The game was a great football game. It could have gone either way, but in the end the Red Raiders couldn't pull it out. I'm still proud to be a Red Raider. I think I went to a wonderful University. I wish the Aggies the best of luck in the SEC. I'm sure that LSU fans are just sweet as pie when you come to their home field."

Although the above words are from a friend, I feel the same way. It is unfair to consider all Red Raiders "classless" and I will always be proud to be a Red Raider.

Take two

Our two girls. Maddie is quite the little protector and she was probably wondering why Avery was not chasing her.

I titled this post "Take two" because in less than three months my poor little baby has had the stomach bug twice and both times it has latest a whole week. This time it happened along with fever. She had fever and diarrhea for five days and threw up for four days. Any mother knows that when your baby is sick you feel helpless and at a loss for what to do. I have to thank my sister for helping me so much this past week because Jason was out of town and I was in and out of work. He did get to come home to go with me to take her to the doctor and I was glad he was there with us. We are back up and running; well she is running and I am still trying to catch up! After many loads of laundry, a few changes of sheets, and a LOT of disinfecting the entire house, I feel like we are back in order.

So pitiful but she is still beautiful even if she is sick.

No one freak out. I would never let Avery do something dangerous, but this is what happens to a 17 month old after being in the house non-stop for five days. She has become delirious. Thank you all for checking in on us and hoping Avery gets well. We greatly appreciated it!

Fall is here

So after a week of Avery being sick, we ventured out of the house to enjoy the beautiful weather. Calloway's Nursery is where we go to get flowers and this past Saturday was Children's Day! They had popcorn, decorating your own pumpkin, planting flowers to take home and grow, and a bounce house. Avery did the pumpkin, flowers, and popcorn. We passed on the bounce house considering Friday was her first day to hold anything solid down. She loved the pumpkins. She ran around the aisles in circles and we went home with more pumpkins that we anticipated. We normally get them when we go to the pumpkin patch!

She loved the baby pumpkins and started saying the word, "punkin"! It is so cute. It was a weekend of "p" words, pumpkin and pancake are her new words!

Another month down and so much to remember. As always you have been very busy; new friends, birthday parties, sleep over with Nana, Papa, and Aunt Lulu, new words, new favorite toys, and more teeth than we can handle. You are talking up a storm; most of the time I need a translator but I LOVE hearing your little voice get more and more persistant with each passing day. You truely make me and your daddy happy and having each other is the best gift that we can thank God for. Your smile, your voice, your facial expressions, and the way you love makes every day that much better. Here are some changes that you have made and some things you have been doing for months:

Diapers: Size 4

Cloths: 12 and 18-24 months

Shoes: Size 5

Teeth: To date you have 13 with three more coming in.

You don't mind getting dirty, but you love your bath time. You are a creature of habit, my fault probably, but you know my every move when are getting ready for bed, bath, dinner, etc. You now respond to us if we ask you if you want to go night night or take a nap. Most of the time you knod your head and say un-huh which I think is precious. You are a true advocate for brushing your teeth. We now have you a brush and paste in the upstairs bath and the master bath. You know think that because Mommy's new car has a tv screen built in, that Mimmi comes on everytime we get into the car. We have had many meltdowns due to this, but we stand our ground and distract you by telling you to look for cows! You still do the signs for more, food, drink, and all done, but now that you are talking more we are asking you to "use your words". You had Ella's and Emma's birthday parties to go too and had your first over night stay with someone other than mommy and daddy. You LOVE TO DANCE! (Which I am dancing now that I am writing it!) I would love for you to dance, but we will support whatever you want to do. But for now, we are loving watching you dance to every song that comes on. You bend to the side with one elbow in the air shaking! A must see! I know I am forgetting something so I will add to this as I remember!

New favorite thing to do is pull up her new chair that Daddy got her in Canton and read/color at the coffee table!

Avery finally got to wear her dress that her Aunt Suzy (Gigi's sister) got her in Paris! She looked adorable! Please ignore the bruise on her head. That was only the second injury report I had to fill out at church! They probably think she has balance issues or something and it is always her head.

Again at the table coloring! We have quite the artist here lately! We bring home several pictures a week of her colorings from Miss Holley's!

After helping daddy, she was off to the front yard to help me in the flower beds. She likes putting the mulch in the watering can! Such a big help!

She made lots of new friends this month! Thank you dollar section at Target.

She went to her first pep rally (she went to lots of them while in my belly but this time she got to watch) at Centennial High School. Mommy dressed her in school colors; red, white, and blue for Homecoming week! She enjoyed watching the cheerleaders and dancers. Then she pointed to the door and said, bye, bye. I think she was ready to go.

Little People are now popular at the Glover house whole. She has several items on her Christmas list!

Mommy got to ride the train at October Fest in McKinney with a very excited little girl. She was not quite sure at first but then started waving to everyone we passed.

Weekend in Austin

Two weeks ago Jason and I finally got away for a "mommy and daddy" trip in Austin, Texas. We were excited and a little nervous. This was our first time to leave Avery overnight, not because we are crazy parents, but because we have done everything as a family thus far. We enlisted our family to take charge at the home front with Miss Avery and we headed out early Friday afternoon; just the two of us. We used Friday night as our anniversary celebration (with Jason's new job we were unable to take our planned trip). We hit up Iron Cactus for dinner and walked 6th Street, landing at Rebel's Dancehall! We enjoyed both dancing and watching the "pros" dance while spinning each other out of control on the floor! Lots to watch in Austin! It was also a great excuse because one of Jason's dear friends, Robert Gibson, was also getting married. So thank you Robert and Bre for giving us our excuse to get "away".

We stayed at the beautiful Renaissance Austin Hotel in the Arboretum. We took this picture from a back road and the view from our room was stunning. The trees are starting to turn and the colors were awesome. I have never been a fan of Austin, maybe due to my Red Raider blood, and up till now I have associated everything with Austin to UT. Not the case anymore. The Arboretum area reminded me so much of The Woodlands, I fell in love with the area. We walked every shopping center we could find and ate at the delicious Daily Grill at The Domain.

This is the only good picture of us taken. We took a picture at the wedding and the sweet lady who took it did not know how to focus our camera. Oh well!

Rememberance

I have been thinking about this post for a while now and once again I have waited till the last minute to write it because of the emotions put into it. September 11 will be a day embedded into my memory forever for many reasons. Each year I post something, but this year feels different. The emotions I have right now are feelings of sadness and thankfulness. Sadness for the unthinkable numbers of lives lost in 2001 and thankfulness that 29 years ago two people made a commitment that would result in a family and for the phone call in 2009 that changed my life forever. So you can see why this day brings so much emotion for so many different events in my life. I will first start with........

September 11, 2001:

I think this picture represents what our country is still feeling 10 years later. All we can do is pray. Ten years ago I was coming out of my Senior English class with Ms. Moser and was told by another student that a plane had hit a building in New York. I would only later understand the magnitude of that statement as my peers and teachers stayed glued in front of the television for days. I remember feeling scared and panicked about what to do. Looking back on the pictures and reading the numerous recollections of the events that took place that day affect me more now than when I was 18 years old. I know now how it has effected me, my children, and our country as a whole forever. One thing I struggle with is thinking of the lives lost, the families destroyed, and the nightmares that will never end for everyone affected. It is almost like you hold your breath when the day approaches to mark another year gone by in fear of something else happening.

Another memory I have is when activities resumed at school in the following weeks. Nate Hale, holding an American flag, ran out with the football team and we stood in a standing ovation to remember those who lost their lives. The picture made the front page of the Herald Democrat and still when I see that picture I get chills. I also remember where I was the day President Bush declared war. I was sitting with Jason and Cody in San Marcus, Texas getting ready to head to the Austin Airport to fly back to Lubbock from Spring Break. Out of all the tearful good-byes Jason and I had before we got married this was the hardest one. I cried so hard I could not even open my eyes and I stood in the entrance of the airport trying to get control of myself. He was rushed away by guards due to the high security and I just stood there watching him drive away. I will never forget the armed guard, holding a machine gun, walking up to me and asking if I was alright. I could not even look him in the eye, I just nodded my head. So today I remember the 343 firefights who lost their lives and the 2, 634 others who fell victim to such a selfish act. Today at church we had two guest speakers; a courageous young mother who became a widow with a 16-month old after she lost her husband in tower one and a General for the Air Force who was in the Pentagon at the time of the attack. Both individuals showed perseverance and strength that they could only have through their faith.

This is probably the most famous picture of all that was seen on every magazine cover. I continue to pray for the families who lost a love one and will pray from here on out. I pray for the men and women of our great country who continue to fight for our freedom at the expense of their families and at times their own lives. I pray for our leaders to guide us in a path of least destruction and regain focus of what really matters.

Side note: Last Sunday at church, Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of Liberty Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting freedoms and strengthening families, spoke about how there will be no mentioning of God at the ceremony for the anniversary this year. I thought to myself, "How sad?". Whether they like it or not, God will be there. Also on display, on loan from the McKinney FD, was a piece of the World Trade Center. It amazed me how a simple piece of metal could evoke such great emotion from a congregation. Just looking at the object made my heart hurt and tears roll down my face. To be so close to something so tragic really opened my eyes. I pray for our great country on the 10th year after September 11.

I was driving home after a pep rally to change clothes and turn right around and head back to the game. I looked down and saw I had a missed call from Doctor Laden's office and my heart skipped a beat. (I had to have blood drawn that Wednesday and Friday morning to determine if my HCGLaden's nurse and I did not want to make you wait through the weekend. I wanted to call and tell you that your numbers not only doubled, but tripled and you are indeed pregnant. Please call Monday to set up your first OB appointment. Congrats." And the tears started rolling, so heavy I had to pull over before heading home. I called Jason and barely got the words out. This all came after having a miscarriage one month prior. My mind still wonders about if it were twins, etc. due to the fact that Avery was born five weeks early at eight pounds. I can only imagine what five more weeks would have done to me! I look back now and could not imagine what life would be like without Avery. Everything happens for a reason and God put Avery in my life to teach me many things. And she is doing just that! I love her with all my heart and I am forever thankful for God's blessing. She came to Jason and I when we needed her most and turned our pain into pure joy.

So for the rest of my life September 11th will hold mixed emotions for the events that have directly and indirectly shaped my life.

Pray for the community of Magnolia

We are now watching and calling friends to check on them and their safety as the town of Magnolia and twenty other fire departments are trying to get a handle on the horrific fires that are burning out of control due to wind. Please pray for the families who have already lost their homes and for the families who are evacuated. And a special pray for all the firefighters and volunteers who are working around the clock to protect the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I have made a conscious effort to take pictures of Avery everyday, whether Jason is home or not. I want to be able to look back over the years and see that sweet face grow up and always have those memories. I took this picture this morning, but she had this look on her face when we got home too. I was pretty upset this morning when Jason left and it was even harder on me when we got home and my baby ran room to room saying "dade"and whimpering. My heart just broke, so I quickly distracted her by taking her outside to play in the backyard. Then she got excited and fell and busted her lip. Great. You may be asking yourself why I am posting such a sad memory, but for Jason this reassures him how much Avery loves him and she recognizes what a big role in her life he plays. She is a daddy's girl and I am ok with that! He is a great dad and she is one lucky girl! It is hard when he is not home, but when he is here, we have so much fun together; even if it is just sitting on the back porch! Thank you for all you do for us babe and know that we are always waiting on you to get home! Even Maddie! Tonight when I was rocking her to sleep and saying our prayers I whispered in her ear, "Mommy and Daddy love you" and she raised up, took her paci out, and gave me a big slobbery kiss! Those are the best kind and the best moments in life. I love you babe!

Happy 16 Month Birthday

Happy 16 Month Birthday AVERY!

This has been a month of change. Mommy went back to work, you went back to "school" (aka Ms. Holley's house), and we have all three had to adjust to daddy's new job with mommy working again. You have been a trooper and truely have made it easy on us. The first two days back into the swing of things did not go well; you screaming "momma" and me crying myself to work with daddy out of town. Talk about hard! Things are back to normal now; when I drop you off you say "bye-bye" and shut the door when I leave. You don't even have to wave at me through the window which allows me to focus at work and not be distracted. I thank you for that!

You have a mouth full of teeth, literally. You now have nine teeth through the gum and fully in with six more about to break through. I know, hard to believe based off my last monthly post, but you have really been good with teething and I can't believe how many you have now. A few stats:

Clothes: 12-18 months depending on the brand

Shoes: 5-5.5

Diapers: Still cruising at a size 4

I am just in awe how you are growing and changing everyday. Your hair is getting lighter and longer! It is just beautiful. You 'talk' all the time and when you get in mommy's new car you yell Minnie and point to the tv screen. It is hilarious! And YES, the temper and tantrums are under control. Mommy's new calm approach is really helping! (Thank you Love and Logic) You love to brush your teeth. No matter where we are, if you see loose shoes laying around, you will quickly pick them up and put them on any un-shoed feet! You are a great listener when it is time to clean-up and put something away which is great. Anything we do, you mock it!

Somethings that are new is that you are watching Ms. Holley take care of the babies at "school" which has really caused you to become maternal to your babies; rocking them, wrapping them up in your blankie and bouncing in front of the tv, you use the pillow to help feed your baby, and Ms. Holley told me that you put your baby in the baby swing! I love it! You will be a great big sis WHEN THE TIME COMES. No I have nothing to tell anyone just in case wondering minds where wondering! :) You are also becoming quite the artist! You are providing some great artwork on the freezer everyday! It makes me smile everytime I look at your colorings. When music comes on, you dance and it is the absolute funniest thing ever; laughing until I am in tears! So to sum up the last 16 months would take me forever, but I will say that we are so proud to be your mommy and daddy and you are the coolest kid in the world! (Please don't ever dump out a whole bag of goldfish again while Daddy and I are grocery shopping at Kroger. One word; Embarrased)

First day back to Miss Holley's!!!!! She has changed so much since our first drop-off at Holley's house. And now mommy can control her emotions a little bit better. I cannot believe we are starting our second year! It will be crazy to see her last day in 2012 and compare. Makes me happy and sad all at the same time! When I picked her up she did not want to leave......at least I know she loves it there!

Your Path to Leadership

We started a sermon series at church and I wanted to share a few things that really spoke me. The series is called "Navigating Life's Journey" and I feel that since becoming a mom I have really struggled in finding a good balance. Wanting to put all my energy into my family and my little girl, but still having a full time job and maintaining a home is challenging at times. The series speaks about what God wants from each and everyone of us and I am finding that it is guiding me in the right path to slow down and chill out. Here lately I have posted about my feelings of defeat with Avery's temperament and feeling as though I am the only one on earth going through such things. I know that it is just my personality to stress and want everything in a straight line and Avery is teaching me a valuable lesson; nothing is straight, perfect, or without flaws. I want to clear my mind and lighten my heart and say for my own sake that Avery is like any other child who is experiencing frustration and developing her personality. I need to calm down and handle things in a more mellow manner and I am finding that this is working much better. I pray daily for patience and encouragement and I am learning how to apply the sermons to my everyday life. I feel I always have room for improvement and here are a few points I would like to share that stuck out to me:

God wants your Attention

I am guilty of this......We turn to God more when He gets our attention through pain or unusual circumstances. I work to give Him my attention everyday and I find such a peace because I know He hears all the little things.

God wants your Respect
God wants your Heart
God wants your Obedience
God wants your Trust

This really spoke to me, because I know He is guiding Jason and I to be the best parents and spouses we can be, but I have to trust every predetermined decision that is made in our lives. Some are easier than others, but regardless it is in His plan.

I struggle most with the following:

God wants to Bless You and He Wants to Bless Others through YOU!

This has weighted heavy on my heart to be more of a servant to my family, friends, and church. I have to stop and look around and realize just how blessed I am and I want to give that to others through service and volunteering.

I have just been really fired up about this so I needed to get it in writing before I forget!

My dear friend Alisha is expecting her first bundle of joy, Kenleigh, in November! Her and her husband Mark were in Texas for a few weeks and I was able to attend her shower to help celebrate with her. In between my nephew's birthday party, baby Kenleigh's shower, and a Scentsy event it was a busy day. I would make time for this girl no matter what. I have prayed for her family in welcoming a new addition for two years now, so I was thrilled to hear that their dream was coming true. Even though they will be living in Virgina, I look forward to seeing pictures and maybe visiting! I wish her the best of luck and I am pulling for November 14 so she could have the coolest birthday day ever! These Texas Tech Pom girls are a special group and even though we were missing several from the group, we had a great time catching up!

Destin 2011

So I know this is almost two weeks late, but we have been trying to get back into a routine and I have just put my blogging for the most part on the back burner. With Jason gone at work and chasing Avery I have utilized my down time for just that, down time! Everyone who reads our blog knows that every trip we take I struggle with picking my "favorite" photos. Well I can't pick.....again. We take tons of photos and I appreciate what we have after the trip is over; our memories in pictures! This is our blog and I want to be able to look back and see what we did each day so I hope you enjoy a walk through our trip as much as I enjoy sharing what we did. This was our very first trip to Destin, Florida and we loved it! We will go back again and again. We stayed in a house in front of Miramar Beach and we have decided that the next time we go we want to stay closer to the Boardwalk.

We down to New Orleans the first night and toured some of the town. We visited Margaritaville, French Market, and the infamous Bourbon Street. No words for what we saw there! All I will say is that I am glad Avery can't remember much there. We strolled down the street fairly early, like before 5:00 pm, and it was already crazy!

I loved the patios with the ivy and ferns! It was such a neat atmosphere walking down Decatur Street.

This worried me a little bit......I was thinking, "Great, we are here for a week and Avery hates the sand. Awesome." She was running after me crying when I took off. Jason was trying to take some pictures of her.

She was just pulling our leg about the sand. She really did love it! At the end of the trip she had it in her ears, nose, mouth; well, pretty much everywhere!

We ended up parasailing another day due a storm that moved it. Pictures of that later in the post!

After eating at The Back Porch, we walked down to the Boardwalk and watched the fireworks. I was nervous about how she would react but she did great. (Her first 4th of July she was three months old and had no idea what was going on and this past 4th of July we where in San Antonio and there was a burn ban......no fireworks anywhere.)

Lindsey, Zach, Jason, and I parasailed and I was a bit apprehensive to say the least. I have a horrible fear of water I cannot see in and I had a death grip on the strap. Mom and dad kept Avery at the dock because my mom would have freaked out doing this! Dad would have loved it, but he was a trooper with mom and Avery! Thank you for letting us go and you two having baby duty!

In the air feeling a little bit more comfortable but I watched that boat with hawk eyes! Thoughts ran through my head such as, "has the rope every broke, well if it did we would die upon impact, has the wrench ever not pulled the people back in, have boats crossed their ropes and got tangled....." I told Jason if he ever wanted to do it again, then don't ask any of the above questions. :)

Happy 15 Month Birthday to our sweet girl!

Once again I come to this particular blog and I reflect on your changes and cannot fathom where the time is going. I love that you are a happy, sweet, little baby, but at the same time I want to hold you in this very moment and not let you get any bigger. I feel it will be a struggle year to year as you grow and become a young lady. There has been a lot happen this last month; your first plane ride, your first trip to the beach, your first long car ride, and numerous play dates.

And she reassured me that the temper and fits are every bit a part of your age and nothing we were lacking doing as parents. :/

You love to brush your teeth and help mommy and daddy clean up your messes. You have really started watching and mimicking actions of others such as washing your hands, wiping your mouth and when I say "look at mommy", you look me right in the eye. I truly believe you understand the words: timeout and "would you like a spanking". You know these words not because you are disobedient, but because we are trying to teach you manners and good behavior and we want to be consistent with our teachings.

You loved the beach after the first night! The first night you cried and ran right back to my arms. We drove your first long car ride to Destin and you did great! Thennnnnnn we flew back home......mommy and daddy remember ALL the details so we will leave it at that. All I can say is that it is worth how ever much money a seat cost to get you your own and strap you in your car seat. Other than that it was great!

We are still struggling with tantrums and what I call "out of body experiences" when you get mad or something is taken away that you obviously disagree with. I know in my heart that it is an issue of frustration with the communication barrier, but I still have a hard time when you act "ugly". I understand it is a stage/phase and hearing other parents express the same struggles is somewhat comforting for me. You are independent and extremely curious about everything!

But on the other hand you are the sweetest little thing ever. You give the best kisses, you blow us kisses, and when you hug you make a little noise like "ummmmmmmm". We love to watch you play with your baby; you kiss her, hug her, and make her dance! It is so cute to listen to your little voice "reading" your books. You love books and I love that!

Currently we are changing your routine for bed. You now get your milk before your bath and after we get your PJs on, you go straight to bed. We are trying to get you in a "big girl" routine. So far you are transitioning very well but if I could I would hold you till you were asleep and then I probably still would not put you down! You are taking one nap a day and are going to bed between 8 and 8:30. Overall you are happy, healthy, you make us smile daily, and we love you with all our hearts. You have your 15 month check-up August 4th so I will add your stats to this post.

Happy Birthday to the Best Man in the World

We left for Destin, Florida on Jason's birthday so we celebrated while we were there! I am the luckiest girl in the world to have this man in my life. I celebrate his life and want you to know that Avery and I love you very much! Next year there is a big party to be had!!!!!!!!!

Good Company in Houston

Jason had to attend training in Houston for his new job the second and third week in July so Avery and I tagged along the first week! It was nice to be with Jason but also nice because we were able to go see our neighbors and good friends while we were there. Avery and I did a little shopping and afterwards she played for quite a while.

She is all about climbing on everything!

My sweet friend Katie who is expecting her first baby! She looks adorable and we are so happy for her and Kevin! We can't wait to meet baby Kinley!

Four years ago, when we all met, there was only Noah and Kara! Now we have added four more babies; Avery, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Cooper! What a change! And now we will wait for Kinley! Thanks to the Laborde Family for hosting a wonderful afternoon of playtime and catching up!

So the trip to San Antonio was great up until we headed home. We were coming through downtown Dallas around 10:30pm and Avery got sick; three times in the car. It took us an hour to get home and the poor little thing was sick up into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. We both slept in the master bathroom floor all night. It was so sad. She slept all day Wednesday and ran a low grade fever and seemed to be fine on Thursday minus the fever. When I got her up on Friday she had got sick in bed. Talk about feeling like a terrible mother. Friday also brought Jason home sick from work. By this time I had already disinfected the house twice, the car, carseat, camera bag, pack-n-play bag, the car TV, and about five loads of laundry. She acted fine Friday and got sick again Saturday night. By this time I thought this was a joke. What in the world was going on. Sunday morning we took her to the doctor and she had some major swelling in her right ear, but the doctor said it was a stomach virus. We left with ear drops and a prescription for the ear. Just when I think we are all out of the clear, I woke up Monday morning at 12:58am to be exact, in a Houston hotel, throwing up every hour till 5am. Please let this be the one and only time this happens to this scale. I know this is one of many in the years to come, but really.

A trip down 35

Jason and I took Avery to San Antonio to see lots of things: Sea World, The Texas Capitol in Austin, The Riverwalk, and of course The Gristmill and San Marcus Outlet Mall. The Gristmill and Outlet mall was the very first trip we took after having Avery. It was only an hour and a half from our house in Houston and I was still not feeling very good from my headaches so it was hard to enjoy. This time we had a blast! I am really bad about choosing pictures so I tried to pick my favorites. If there is one thing I love about my husband, it is his love for the camera along with everything else! Even if I complain about it sometimes, I truly love having all the memories to look back at!

Avery discovered the ......whatever you call this thing (baggage carrier!).......and the elevator. These are now her new favorite things when we go to hotels! And here lately we have gone to a lot of them.

Waiting for the gate to open! I am not sure who is more excited....me or her! I get excited about everything though.

Tired of waiting.

Mommy and daddy busted through some crowds to get to the Shamu show first. Momma bear was taking Avery to the main attraction at all costs!

I got teary-eyed seeing how excited Avery was, even though she had no idea of what was going on. I love that we can do these things for her and with her. I cannot imagine what my emotions will be when we take her to Disney World for the first time. I will be an emotional wreck!
