Busy Avery

Avery is getting so big these days!  She is so ready for baby Ansley to get here and will run to my belly and say, "baby, come out, you have new cloths to wear!".  She is so sweet and so very funny.  Right now she loves anything Disney but has shown a huge interest in Jake and the Neverland Pirates!  She has collectively named her wooden fort outside in the backyard the Pink Pearl.  Anytime someone leaves the house she tells them to watch out for alligators.  Random I know, but hilarious at the same time!  She loves her babies, Princesses, Playdoh, dress-up and her new room (pictures coming soon!)  She is such a big girl and she continually keeps us laughing.  She calls me her best friend and I believe that is the greatest title I have right now.  She loves her daddy to pieces too!  He has been home two weeks and she tells everyone that her daddy is home; like he came home yesterday!  I love their bond!  Her favorite song right now is Jesus Loves Me and she loves Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Brown Bear!  She can recite both books!  I cannot believe she will be three in April and then she will be a big sister.  Where does the time go?!?!  She has learned so much at preschool this year and her vocabulary is through the roof.  I am in consent amazement at how smart she is and how she has grown as a little person.  I always tell her she will always be mommy's baby but that she is a big girl to everyone else.  So anytime she gets hurt, let's say she runs into a wall, she will walk over and slap the door and say, "don't hurt mommy's baby".  It is too cute.  And in mentioning hurting herself, if you have noticed in the last couple of blogs she has either had a huge bruise on her forehead or a busted lip.  Avery has unfortunately inherited my grace and in the last three weeks she has run into the door frame of her bathroom causing the huge bruise and knot, fell from the top of the fourth stair to the bottom landing on the tile and busting her lip (talk about a heart attack and sick stomach), and her latest stint was Friday night at La Madeline's when she fell backwards in her chair trying to turn around bruising her leg horribly.  Thank goodness it was not broken because the bruise looks like it could have been.  So I am currently paying for my raising when it comes to accidents.  Great!
Playing with her Playdoh that Cupid brought!
Getting ready to leave for school!  We were in a super good mood!
No I did not pose this child.

This is Avery's idea of  "getting dressed" to go to the store.  I laughed so hard and truly had to do some convincing to get her changed and ready to go into public!
Fun at Academy with Daddy!  They were throwing a football with a softball glove and helmet.  Poor girl has all her sports mixed up besides soccer and golf!
 Sweet girl!
Hitting a few golf balls!
She loves to "cook" for us and go shopping in her room.  It is amazing what you can buy in her room for $5.  If only it worked that way at Kroger!
Cheesing it up with her awesome bruise!
 Statue of Liberty!
 Her favorite; pancakes and eggs!
She was convinced she needed this!  Not so much!

First Hair Cut

This past Sunday we took Avery to get her first hair cut.  I know, I know she is almost three, but I love her hair and it was really hard for me to even cut the ends off.  We ended up cutting two inches off to help it grow and get more full!  She was terrified and I was sad.  I had a few tears roll down my checks.  She had her hair washed in Chocolate shampoo and then she got to sit in Lighting McQueen's racecar!  Too cool.  Where were these places when we were kids?  The place we took her too, Sharky's, is super cool and caters to kids.  They had a first time hair cut package that came with a certificate, before and after pictures, and several locks of her hair.  Here are a few pictures!
She was so scared.  Poor baby.  She kept asking if she was going to look like a boy.  Silly girl!
Her ride!
She would not let go of my hand!
And this was her expression the entire time until we walked out the door!

 Sweet baby face!
We are done!  And they braided her hair.  She was not a fan and I can't say I liked the do either.

Brrr......Playdate

Saturday morning was low key and we had no plans, this was a first in a while.  A few friends sent Ave and I a message to see if we wanted to venture down to the park from our house for a little playdate!  Perfect!  So we bundled up and headed out in the stroller.  It was cold but I think I bundled us up too much!  Better to be safe than sorry right?!?!?!?
Avery and her "best friend" MJ.  These two love each other!
Sweet boy Hunter!  He is getting so big!

Splitsville Bowling

Sweet Avery loved bowling so much the first time that she asked to go again!  So we made a night of it; just Mommy, Daddy, and Ave.  I love that when Jas is home we try to do as much family stuff as possible.  Maybe that is why it is so hard when he leaves to go back to work.  We enjoy every second together as a family and Ave loves it!  I had girls together with the ladies from our church at Splitsville in Allen/Fairview and it was such a cool place!  So that is where we went.  We had our own little section all to ourselves and we had a great time!

 Daddy helping Ave!
And by the end, our sweet girl was ready to try it on her own!!!!  Look of determination!

Fat Tuesday

This year we got a wild hair and decided to try a King Cake in honor of Mardi Gras.  I can't say I was a fan due to the thick layer of icing and all the sprinkles.  It is basically a jacked up cinnamon roll with way too many sprinkles.  But our little family party was fun!
Our crazy party!!!!!! Ha!
Avery found the baby this year so I guess she will bring the cake to our party next year!

Celebrating 80

A few weeks ago we celebrated Betty's, our Pops wife, 80th Birthday in Fort Worth.  It was a small get together at their assisted living center and her girls, Ruthie and Regina, really made it special for her.  It was nice to see our family and visit with family we don't get to see much!  Avery loved playing with Isabella, my cousin's little girl, who is a hoot!

Thank goodness for our busy bag!  They colored, read, and gave out Valentine's!
