You know your a mom when........

You know your mom when.................................
 1.  You swing with your two year old even if it is super hot outside and you enjoy it!  All after you pick up dog poo...notice Kroger bag hanging on cactus!
 2.  You collect a cup everywhere you go.  And yes, we have already acquired two more since I took this picture.
 3.  Get excited over your new Chicco hiking backpack!  Avery did not want to get out so we left her there till she was ready!
 4.  You color coordinate for holidays!
 5.  You pick your battles wisely and you let her wear the jewelry out....all of it.
 6. You enjoy the little helper doing more destruction than construction around the house!
 7.  When you think it is precious when the dog is warn out from the walk and has her tongue hanging out and your daughter is playing with it and thinks it's hysterical!
8.  When you buy your neighbors double stroller, because one day you will need, but you will never find a better deal so you have to buy it NOW!  Note:  I did sell my single jogger to buy this double jogger, so I really only paid $20 for it!

9.  When you enjoy blogging!

 10.  When you get up 7 times during a meal to go to the potty, but out of those 7 times we only had 4 "potties" and you don't mind.

There are more "You know your a mom when......" but for now these are the ones currently playing out in my mind.  I cherish every minute with my sweet Avery and I love being her mommy and stealing all of daddy's kisses. She has brought so much joy to our lives and we are lucky to be her parents!  Her vocabulary, intelligence, and observation amaze us everyday and she lights up our eyes!  We are currently potty training and we made it to dinner and through a walk DRY!  We did take our potty on our walk!  Love our sweet girl!

Wreck'em Tech

Texas Tech Pom has been a huge part of my life and I met two of my best friends on the team.  I was asked to speak at the Alumni get together the night before they started camp at SMU and it was a great honor.  I got to tell the new squad what Tech Pom meant to me and some of my favorite memories!
We took Avery to see the dancers on the last day of camp and she loved it!  I can't wait till she starts dancing!!!!!!
 They looked great!

She stood and watched the entire time!  Never moved!

She is ready for football season!
 Turn sequence looked great!

 Going to the award ceremony.

 Again, so attentive!
And look who we found.....wearing a Double T!
 We LOVE the Hoppess Family!
 Good Job!

Red Raider x 3 (Tech Spirit now has more Red Raiders, team doctor with staff and their own travel bus)
 Our Future (hopefully) Red Raider
 Lots of Tech Spirit!
Avery made a new friend, instantly.  This sweet young girl, Lexi, came right over and made her feel so special.  Thank you!  (Avery did have a mouth full of goldfish!)
Avery got to take a picture with Pom!  Hard to believe that use to be me and now my little girl is in the picture with the new team!  Strange feeling.
We took this pic for Aunt Jen!

Let there be Hope

As beautifully written by Hope's mom, "A tiny, brilliant light has been extinguished on this earth. Hope fought the fight longer and stronger than any giant could ever have. In the end, the Lord decided her fighting was done and she deserved all the peace and rest she had so valiantly battled for. Words cannot express the profound sorrow that we all now feel, and these few words are insufficient to honor such a strong and beautiful soul. We love you with all our hearts, and know that you are in a better and peaceful place free of tubes, needles and pain."  Hope went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 18, 2012 at 20 months old after a long fight with many complications since birth.  Please continue lift this family up in prayer as they have a long road of healing left ahead of them.  I wanted to share her Caring Bridge website which includes information for donations if your heart desires.  Thank you again for all the prayers each and everyone of you said for this little angel.

Surprise 30th Birthday Jason

In 14 years I have never been able to pull off a surprise of any sort for Jason.  So this year I was determined, if he was home, to have a surprise 30th Birthday party for him and I am happy to say that I pulled it off!  I had my mom, Jason's mom, my friend Tami, good friend Chad and everyone else under the sun in on the surprise.  I could not have pulled it off without them!  He was so surprised and really felt special!  Thank you to all who came and help us celebrate and those who sent sweet messages for not being able to attend.  We had a great turn out and I loved that he thought nothing of it.  It was a Dirty Thirty party with stick on mustaches and sombreros with a Fiesta Flare!  We had fajitas catered out, margaritas, pinatas, cactus necklaces, and all of Jason's favorites; milk dudes, sweet tarts, and chocolate chip cookies!  He always does things like this for me and it was about time I got him!
So I sent him and his life saving friend Chad out in the hottest part of the day to play golf.  I had to twist both of their arms but I owe Chad big time.  This happened because he got Jason out of the house and away for five hours!  Yes, we set up, got ready, and everyone was here in that time frame.
The mariachi man my parents got Jason!  I added his balloon!
 Getting the table set up!
Because of my short notice April was unable to do his cake, bummer, but the cake was delicious!
 Favorite candy!

Wuwu and Ave, who was not awake yet!
No fiesta is complete without a cheesy pepper from Party City for $1!
 Mantle
Showing Chad the new crown molding and opened the door to all of us!  He did not know what to say or do!  Speechless!
Ave was so excited to see the birthday boy!

Avery showing Landry how to play!

Helping daddy blow out his candles!  I bet I know what he wished for!
 Some of the party goers!
After everyone left, he opened his presents and ..........
Avery thought she needed a tutu on for the occasion!
 Close up!
 Love her face!
Then she needed to stand like mommy!  Such a funny kid.
Creepy mustache birthday boy and Avery was not sure of him!

I love you with all my heart and I hope you had a great birthday!  You deserve the world!  I hope your 30s are as fun and blessed as your 20s!
