Last Soccer Game

This past weekend we had Avery's last soccer game for the Winter season.  I think we need a break considering since her surgery she has not been interested at all.  This week she rearranged the rubber clippings in the grass.  Awesome.  So we are going to give her a season to take a break and then try it again to see if she gets re-interested.
Getting ready to start the game!
Maddie and Avery running around!
Getting her medal!

Giving some love to her coach!!!!!!  We love Coach Brent!

Ansley Grace

January 25th we found out that we were expecting a precious little girl to join our family!  Ansley Grace will be Avery's bestest friend according to Miss Ave.  And ride in her Barbie Jeep!  We wanted to do something special to tell our families so we did the Pinterest Box!  We will definitely have to have maternity pictures taken with the box seeing how it was already dark outside at the reveal.  We are so excited to have two girls close in age that will share such a special bond!  Does this mean we will try for a boy next?????
Testing the camera.
Opening the box.
Realizing our camera did not go off.  Therefore, it did not get the pictures!
Thank goodness Lindsey's camera on her phone (hence the quality) captured at least one!  More reason to do maternity pictures!

Fun with Avery

Avery is at such a fun age!  I wish I could bottle this age up with just about every other age.  She is full of energy, personality, and pure joy!  The things that she says and does are hysterical and I would need a video of everything for you to believe me.  She listens to everything and mimics everything I do!  She is my little sidekick and she misses her daddy terribly when he is gone to work.  For now we are cherishing our time with her and discovering all kinds of new things!  Her favorite word is "Why?".  And after that she asks, "How?".  And then we play 20 questions.  I answer everyone of them because I know she is soaking it up in her tiny little brain!  She loves to sing and her favorites include Jesus Loves Me, Jingle Bells, ABCs, Pat the Bible, Twinkle Little Star, and Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee.  I love listening to her sweet voice sing.  It will bring a smile to my face on my hardest days.  She is so smart and we love her more than any words could describe!
Picture Day at School!  Little Miss Priss!
She told us she needed someone to ride with her.  Well, neither Jason or I can fit in that thing so Maddie had to get volunteered!  She was not super thrilled but went along with it!
Love this picture!

And then she was begging us to get her out.
We went to the Dallas Zoo last Wednesday when the weather was 70 degrees and beautiful!  It was a perfect day!  It was considered Penguin Days but was the furthest thing away from being cold.

The monkeys were her favorite.
It was a great day with Daddy and Mommy!

Happy Birthday Tatum

One of Avery's little friends, Tatum, from her soccer team had a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese!  Avery had so much fun eating pizza, playing games, and playing with her friends.  She was not a fan of the cake though, which was unusual.  We hope you had a great party and we loved celebrating with you!

She loved the pizza!

I have been working with Avery on her Alphabet for a few months now and they work on them at school too.  So I was super proud that she got this much and the tune!

Pastries with Parents

Pastries with Parents was something new this year at Cottonwood and I attended with Avery.  It was a nice Mommy and Ave breakfast "date".  I so wish Jason would have been with us but we made the best of it.  She had donuts and I had blueberry muffins!  I even got to take her to class, which normally Jason either takes her or her teacher gets her and takes her to class because I am already in my room so it was fun!  She was a bit confused though that I was leaving and just stood there unsure.....made me worry so I had to check on her like three times during the day!  That is the best perk of my job!  I can see her when I want!
About to head to the Atrium for breakfast!
Excited about the donuts!  She said, "I need donuts everyday".  Not sure that would be a good idea!

Bringing in 2013

2012 ended on a good note with having Jason and my dad home for the holidays, but I was ready to see it go.  It brought joy (Disney trip and finding out we were expecting baby Glover #2), transition (me starting a new job), difficulty (salary change and slow moving times in the natural gas industry), sadness (seeing loved ones go through hard times, seeing little ones battle life threatening diseases), but through it all Jason and I came out on top.  A strong, Christian based marriage, a wonderful healthy little girl, a healthy growing baby on the way, and we remained focused on our goals for 2013.

I have always been bad about setting New Year's resolutions and if I do I tend to forget by February or I get too busy.  So this year I made it a goal to set New Year's changes per say.  I want to improve things, change things, and become a better wife, mother, daughter, and teacher.  I have been thinking about this post since before New Year's Eve and today it came together in my head.  We had a training at work that flipped the light on.  Everyday I need to clothe myself in Christ.  Perfectly said.  I cannot have patience alone, I cannot show compassion alone, I cannot .............You get the idea.  I have to ask for help from God and He is the only one who can help me keep it together each day.

My situation is a little different than most with Jason being gone quite a bit.  I tend to everything when he is gone and when he returns he becomes super dad!  Jason has made many sacrifices for our family and for that I will always be grateful and hold a respect for him like no other.  He always puts Avery and I first and never once do I question that.  He lends an ear when I feel overwhelmed at home and talks me off the ledge.  So in knowing that God and Jason will always have my back, that is what really geared me to come up with my changes.

My Plan for 2013:

1.  Daily Devotional that focuses on things I need to work on.  So far this book has been AWESOME!  I want to be a better discipline and take time out each day that is my time with God to reflect and pray.

2.  Always make sure Jason knows how much I respect him, love him, and am thankful for him.  I do a pretty good job already, but I love him more and more each day and I want him to know that when he wakes up and when he lays down.

3.  Be in the moment.  Meaning if I have to stop to brush Barbie's hair while blogging, then that is what I will do.  Note: I did that while I was writing this change!  I want to enjoy everything Avery is doing and when baby Glover #2 gets here, do the same with them.  Cleaning, laundry, lunch making, whatever will wait.  And I can grantee that unless a fairy flies into my house and does it all for me that it will be there tomorrow.

4.  Let go of any thoughts that hold me back from being a positive person in many aspects of my life.  Worry is not for me to do and this change will be VERY hard for me to do.  Anyone who knows me knows that I worry about anything and everything.

5.  Be a better teacher in my home.  I give so much at work that I want to do the same at home.  I know I love on Avery and teach her things (I'm not bashing myself as a mother) but I know there is room for improvement and in 10 years I want to look back and have no regrets or moments of "I wish I would have done that, etc".  My current job has allowed me to do so much with her this year and it was been a blessing.  I am with her all the time and I love our time together!

I am super excited about many things that are changing for Glover's in 2013!  Bring on a fabulous year as we expand our family and grow in faith.

Also with a new year I wanted to share a few of my favorite "New" things:

1.  My new Clarisonic Mia 2 that my parents got for me.  I have never been more pleased with the way my skin feels after using this.  If you know me, you know that I never go to bed without washing my face unless I am sick or past the point of exhaustion, and I now cannot go to bed without using this morning and night!

2. Motherhood Maternity has the cutest cloths and when I was pregnant with Avery I maybe went in twice to look around and purchase something.  But for Christmas I got some super cute tops and it made me feel like a new woman!!!!!!  It is amazing what a new shirt will do for someone!  I told Jason, KIDDINGLY, that with all the cute maternity stuff I have now that I may have to have baby 3 just to wear it again.  He was not amused!

3.  Avery and Baby Glover #2's new ride!  I love love love this stroller, Baby Jogger's City Select.  We had a different version at Disney World that we rented which prompted us to purchase this version verses the double side by side.  Love it!  Now for our little baby to get here!  Avery tells my belly everyday, "Baby you come out!".  Silly girl!

Christmas Addition

In my original post about our Christmas festivities I claimed that I had not taken any pictures of our Christmas with my Dad's side of the family.  I was mistaken.  I did take a few.

Avery and "her" Tucker
This quilt means the absolute world to me.  My grandmother made it for Avery and all the patches are from my great-grandmother Burrus's, Corda, dresses.  She made all of her own dresses and I remember each one of them vividly.  This is not the first post where I have written about my great-grandparents and this quilt will be a constant reminder for Avery of how special she was to me.  Avery will get to meet her one day in Heaven, but for now I will enjoy telling Avery stories about Arkansas and her cooking!  What a special gift!
Aunt Lori got her the Little People Disney Princess Castle and we have not stopped playing with it.  We love Little People brand at the Glover house!

Christmas through Avery's Eyes

Where did the time go?  It felt like it was Thanksgiving and then the next day was Christmas.  This year was hard for me, maybe a little hormonal, but we did lots of activities leading up to Christmas and unfortunately Jason had to miss them all; ICE, North Pole Express, Highland Park Carriage Ride, etc.  Our fear was that Jas would not make it home for Christmas, but being the sneaky and ever so sweet husband and daddy he is, he surprised us and was home through the New Year.  I was in tears and overjoyed that he was standing in our front doorway!  Best Christmas present ever!  So we were very busy with family get togethers, Christmas Eve service, and Christmas Day with the beautiful snow which made the day perfect.  My dad was home and we had an awesome Christmas Break!  I could not have asked for more.  We are very blessed and I was very thankful that I had ALL my family together.  As you know I can never just pick a few pictures for my blog and I take thousands of pictures.  Here are my "favorites"!

Highland Park Carriage Ride
Avery seeing the carriage pull up with the horses!  I also had the pleasure of running into one of my sorority sisters from Tech, Lauren Anderson, right before getting on.  Such a sweet smile and familiar face!
The Village was decorated beautifully as always!  We have had this tradition for many years and it is always enjoyable; minus the sassy behavior from Ave and me falling apart missing Jason.  :/  We had dinner at Patrizio's which was yummy and then headed out!
Love my girl!

This was after the horse used the bathroom......funny girl kept saying, "that smells yucky".

Christmas #5
We had Christmas with my Dad's side of the family but somehow the camera never got pulled out.....sad face.  It was the Sunday after Avery's surgery so I'm sure I was just exhausted and did not even think about it.  It was our house and we had some yummy potato soup that I had never made before and it turned out super good!  Ready for another batch!

Merry Christmas 2012
