Avery is obsessed

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Avery loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When she hears the music, particular "Hot Dog" Dance, she starts screaming and bouncing up and down. It is so cute!

The roads are no longer safe!

She loved this little car!
Looks like she drives like her momma.......impatient.
Sweetest little profile!

Was I asleep?

So I discovered many typos today on my last post. Was I asleep when I wrote it? I find myself reading the posts over and over and over again and it sounds good to me! I guess I need to slow down when I proofread. Sorry!

Happy 11 Month Birthday

Happy 11 Month Birthday!
We are one month closer to the Big Birthday and your mommy and daddy cannot believe it. You have brought so much joy and light into our lives and we really do not know what we use to do before we had you. We have so much fun just staying home and running around the house playing. I look at you and your little "ways" and you bring tears to my eyes daily. Not because I am sad, but because I love you so very much. You have been a busy girl this month. Here is what you have been up to:
  • You started walking and you have yet to stop.

  • You went to the doctor, again, because you had the start of an ear infection.

  • Eating four bottles a day with three to four jars of baby food

  • You eat anything mommy and daddy are eating (Such as a whole slice of pizza at Brinlee's birthday party)

  • You are wearing 9-12 month clothing

  • You love to ride in the grocery cart and "whoo" anyone who walks bye. Your a real ham!

  • You have learned to open Maddie's, "Your four-legged sister", crate. You think it is great, we think "great", just another thing to baby proof so you don't smash your fingers.

  • You also learned to open ALL the cabinets in the house and at times empty those cabinets. So daddy has had to baby proof EVERYTHING.

  • You have learned to shake your head left to right letting mommy and daddy have some fun! We ask you questions like, "Are you ever going to leave mommy and daddy?", "Do you like boys?", and "Are you ever going to get married?". Now stop judging us, we are just having fun. You promptly shake your head no and it is the cutest thing. We both know that one day God will give you a true love and we will have to tolerate the dating, but right now that is a thought I cannot think about.

We love you so much and I still cannot believe that the next one will be your birthday party pictures and your 12 month post. Where has the time gone baby girl? We recently celebrated Jason's grandfather's 80th birthday and as we were singing Happy Birthday I started crying. I think about the day I went into labor and even through to pain, all I thought was "I am about to be a mom and I will finally get to meet this little angel baby that I have waited so long for." I love you so very much and your mommy and daddy will always be right with you. Love you bunches!

Look what I can do.......

She is on the move! I cannot believe she is already walking.

Happy Birthday Brinlee!

Happy 1st Birthday Brinlee!
Avery attended her very first birthday party as a party goer! She had so much fun. It was at the Frisco Pump It Up. At first she wanted nothing to do with them, but after watching the other kids, she quickly gained interest. She walked everywhere and jumped in several bouncers. Brinlee was adorable and got so many goodies! She loved her cake and dug right in. Thanks Clint, Jennifer, Brody, and Brinlee for letting us share in Brinlee's special day!
Loving on Momma!
Avery had so much fun playing in the bounce houses!
Daddy loving on his girl!
One of my favorite pictures taken of Avery. I feel so blessed to be her momma.
Walking to Daddy
I could never get a good picture of the girls from the front, so they gave me their backs. Avery was showing Brinlee how to climb up the ramp.
Avery's favorite part
So I got in with Avery and left with a burn on my arm from going down the slide and trying to stop with my elbow. Not a good idea.
I was resting here.......forget the gym, I will go run around in the bouncers all day.
Avery did not want in the picture, so we caught her trying to escape!

I made the decision to..........

Sell Scentsy!

I work with a gentlemen who has talked about the major success of his daughters and wife with selling Scentsy. One of his daughters is a Super Star Director and will hit her million dollar mark this year! Wow! He has been hinting to me that I should be doing this since November and I finally made the decision to start. I love candles and smelly good things so this is a perfect product for me. I use Scentsy all over in my home and feel so good about selling this product. I have been approached by so many direct sells pitches and this one truly fits me. So if you do not have a rep, please visit my website http://livingsimple.scentsy.us/.

Some of my favorite things.......

So I read a few weeks ago a couple of posts from Stephanie and Ashley about their favorite things! I love posts like this so I have decided to post something similar. Thanks girls for the idea!
When Jason and I moved back from Houston, we both desired to get back to the gym but we never made it a priority until about two months ago. I cannot tell you how great we feel now that we are working out again. Our cloths are fitting a little looser and I have most of my energy back. After having Avery and going through such horrible headaches, which I still have occasionally, I was stuck in a rut and I never thought I would start feeling like myself again. I had such a misconception about child birth: "You have a great pregnancy, a healthy birth, then lay low for about a week, and then you will back to normal and life will be grand." Little did I know I would only get two of those; a great pregnancy and a life with Avery that is grander than anything else. I am so glad to get this part of my life back and feel so much better!

I LOVE Noxzema! I have used this stuff forever and I love the tingling sensation on my face after using it. I wash my face twice a day with it and it treats my skin so good!

All I drink is water and it is a must have.
I must have product on my lips at all times and one of my favorites is the tinted Burt's lip balm.
A few more things.........I love being outside, I love to clean and work in the yard, I love rocking my baby to sleep, I love the way Avery smells in the morning when I get her up, I love everything about her, I love my husband more than words could say (And his smell; I have a thing with smells, they trigger so many memories for me), I love the history we have together, I love the smell of a match being blown out and the inital smell of turning the AC on in the car (I know those are weird), I love the feeling of the sun beaming down on me while sitting on the porch, and I love my Faith in the Lord. My Faith has given me such strength and reassurance in myself. I love knowing that Avery and our future children will be raised in a Christian home and I love my family!
It feels good to write this post because the last couple of months I found myself in such a good place. Happy and contentment would describe it. I have reminensced on the past year many times here lately both with all the changes and the major changes in Avery. Looking at her pictures and remembering how small she was compared to now takes me to a bitter sweet place. We have been planing her 1st Birthday party and all I can think about is cupcakes and pink and brown. Her party theme has been decided on since she was two months old. I know I jumped ahead a little bit, but if you know anything about me it is that I plan far in advance! A bit OCD maybe.....my dad would not be allowed to comment here; nor my husband. :) Anyway the past year has been very busy and a bit stressful and Jason and I both feel like we are finally to a good place with a lot of things. Life can get stressful and it can take a toll. Jason and I are truely a team and I feel like the past year has shown us that we can weather just about any storm.

Spring Break Festivities

So when I downloaded my pictures, I downloaded them backwards. Oops! Oh well, I am just proud of myself for putting pictures up before our Spring Break is even over. We have had such a relaxing break and it is the first Spring Break Jason and I have ever spent at our house since being married. We have always gone to Sherman so this is so nice to be home. We left on Friday and went to stay at Nona and Pops house (Sherri and Stan Young) for a weekend in Houston. They are so dear to us and while living in Houston we became very close. They became our family away from family and we love them dearly. We came into town for Carter Ingram's wedding; she was one of my students while teaching in Houston. She is such a sweet girl and was a beautiful bride. After a short visit with the Laborde's we came home after the wedding and have just been hanging out at home. Here are some of my favorite pictures!

The New Look

So I have been wanting to change up our blog for some time now. Well, I finally found time in between cleaning and a sleeping baby to do it! I love the new look. It screams Spring/Summer!

Baby Dedication

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
Psalms 127:3-5

March 6, 2011 was the first milestone to mark Avery's walk with Christ. Jason and I vowed ourselves to be Avery's guidance and example in bringing her up in a Christian home. It was such a special day for our entire family and we thank everyone for their love and support in this very important time in our lives. We would like to thank Papa, Nana, Pawpaw, Gigi, Papaw, Teresa, Aunt Jenn, McKinley, Brennan, Emma, Great-Grandpa and Grandma Burrus, Great-Grandpa Powell, Aunt Lori, Rudy, Aunt Kim, Uncle Wayne, Jennifer, Blake, Jason, Gammie, Aunt Cinda, Kiel, Ashley, Sarah, Jayme, and Ella for all being in attendance for the special occasion. What a support group! We missed Aunt Lulu, Papa and Betty, and Uncle Tristan but we know you all support us in this journey.

Our dear friend, Ashley Boothe, with Blue Box Designs, created these beautiful invitations. Thank you so much! I do regret that we only took pictures at Church and did not get pictures with our family. We will always appreciate everyone who made the day that much more special. God blessed us with an amazing little girl who will continue to bring joy and light into our lives. You cannot help but smile when you see her sweet face. Thinking of the trial and tribulations that Jason and I endured, God knew His plan for us and He was waiting for the right time to send Avery to us. What a gift from God! She is a miracle in every way and we are proud to be called her parents. Please continue to support and pray for Jason and I in guiding our precious baby girl.

Beautiful Invitations

Our beautiful Angel Baby

Our Family

Lunch was held at our home afterwards to show our appreciation of our family and celebrate such a beautiful little girl. The cake was wonderful and the family time was even better. We are so glad we live here by our family. Avery opening her wonderful dedication gifts. She received some precious keepsakes that will be treasured forever. Thank you everyone!

Happy 10 Month Birthday

Happy 10 Month Birthday!
My beautiful baby girl is now 10 months old. In two months it will have been a year from the time I first looked into her gorgeous blue eyes. I cannot express the love I have for this little baby because there are no words to describe everything I feel for her. She brings so much joy and happiness into our home and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning when I get home from work and see her. I love watching her play and then her finally making eye contact with me and her screaming with excitement. She is such a smart baby and I am so very proud to be her mama. Being a mom has changed my life for the better and parenting with Jason is awesome. As parents we are in sink with everything and I know that is what makes for such a happy baby. I know this mama is ready for Spring and to take a break from visiting the pediatrician. It seems like since October we have been to the doctor every month. I think Avery has allergies but her nose has ran ALL winter. Knock on wood, but things seem to be getting better with this warmer weather. I am so very thankful for Avery and for the love she has filled in her parents hearts. Even after 10 months, there are still times I look at her and think, "Wow, she is really mine!". I am so lucky to have Avery and Jason. God is good!
Here is what Avery's has been up too:
  • Avery now has four VERY visible and SHARP teeth (just ask Jason)
  • She recognizes the word "No" and she knows that means to stop whatever she is doing
  • Wearing 9-12 month clothing
  • Size 3 Diapers
  • Avery has definitely thinned out a bit from doing the "big" girl crawl on all fours
  • Eats 4 bottles a day
  • Takes three to four jars of baby food
  • Cereal at night and a thousand puffs a day!
  • Anything that mommy or daddy eats, so does Avery (she thinks she is ready for steak!)
  • She wears a size 3 shoe and is doing pretty good with wearing shoes everyday
  • Avery takes two to three naps per day
  • She can now wave "Bye-bye" pretty consistently
  • Avery visited the Fort Worth Zoo for the first time
  • RSV (she had perfect Oxygen levels so things never got too serious.)
  • Trying to take a few steps (Yikes!)
  • Oh, and she is into everything............

Avery also was given a wooden swing set for the backyard and she LOVES the tire swing. Thank you Aunt Lori and Tucker! Avery loves to be outside so this is perfect!

Avery was so tired that she fell asleep in her highchair drinking her bottle. I wish this stage would last forever. I cannot believe how fast she is growing..........
