Great Words

Today we were invited to go to church with some new friends.  It is one of the doctors Jason will be working with in his territory.  Him and his wife are so very nice and down to earth!  Very refreshing.  The sermon today was very eye opening.  It is labeled #struggles and is a five sermon series.....and although I have never used a hastag for any reason on a social media sight, quite frankly I do not get why people do, I found that the bottom line of the sermon was addressing something that I sometimes do.  Everyone does it and there are those who would never admit it.  I will leave you with this.....

"Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don't have."  Ecclesiastes 6:9

All we see on Facebook and other sights is only what we want people to see.....a new car, new whatever.  I have been very open about struggles in my own life through my blog.  It is my way of communicating.  However, I still find myself thinking everyone I see on Facebook has the perfect kids, the perfect everything.  Get real.  Let's start relating to one another and stop being unauthentic.  Jason and I had a great discussion on our way home and I wish it would be easy to walk away from Facebook.

The other verse that struck me was this.....

"For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast."  Proverbs 15:15

Tour of the South

Yes there are a lot of pictures, yes we had a great time, and I am so glad I got to see so many things I have been wanting to see.  Out of the entire trip, not only did I love spending time with my family, but I also loved seeing so much history and really taking in the stories of the places we visited.  We went to West Monroe on our way up and then stayed in Atlanta for the night.  We took the kids to the aquarium the next day and then finished our drive into Summerville, South Carolina where Jason's sister and her family live.  We went all through Charleston our first day and then celebrated Jason's birthday!!!!!!  The next day we went to Myrtle Beach and visited Ripley's Believe It or Not.  That took all day and we headed back really late.  I expected something different because it looked liked every other high traffic commercial area.......Hard Rock CafĂ©, JB Margaritaville, and every other name brand place.  The kids had fun and that is all that matters.  The next day Jason and I took the girls for a day of just family stuff.  We visited Boone Hall, The Angel Tree, and headed back to Charleston to see a few other things.  It was so nice....we had dinner at a local restaurant on the water......just a day with our girls!  The next day we headed to the beach, Isle of Palms, and this made Avery's trip.  Playing in the sand.  Daddy buried her, she built a sand castle, and Ansley loved the sand and water.  That night I did a shoot for some of my sister-in-law's friends and we headed out the next day.  In between all the sight seeing there was a lot of cousin time playing, occasional disagreements, and more playing.  Good times!  This is the trip in a nut shell because of how behind I am!  Enjoy our pics!
The kids did awesome both ways!  Thank you girls!

Boone Hall

Boone Hall (where the Notebook was filmed)
This is the Oak Avenue!  Beautiful!

The scene in the Notebook where Noah takes off his shirt and jumps in.......this is it!  One of my favorite movies so this was super cool for me!  I had to come home and watch the movie again!

This woman had an incredible voice that gave me chills when she sang and talked Gullah.  You could almost feel the history.

This is where Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married!  Beautiful barn out by the water.

Boone Hall is one of the only plantations that still have the slave quarters preserved.  So sad to see how they had to live.

This lady was making sweet grass baskets, which is a fine art in these parts, and they are very expensive.  You see them everywhere!

The house from the Notebook!

The Angel Tree

The Angel Tree in SC.  The most incredible tree I have ever seen.
