Memorial Day Weekend 2012

It has been a busy weekend with family and friends.  Jason got to be home most of the weekend which was nice and we took advantage of spending some time together!  First let's start with Action Figure Movies!  Where have we been?  So last week Jas and I took up a quick date night and went to see Avengers.  Great movie by the way.  However we had not seen any of the "other" movies.  So since last Monday we have watched Iron Man, Iron Man II, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor!  We have been some busy movie watchers after little bit goes to bed!  I also talked him into fitting in The Vow.  Not happy with the ending by the way.  We did lots of swimming, eating, and fellowship!  It has been a great weekend.

However, I will not go without saying that this weekend was great and all, but we must remember why we get to do all of these things with our families.  We get to fellowship because of the men and women who fight for our freedoms everyday. We pray for their families who wait for them tirelessly and for their safe return.  I am forever grateful for their sacrifice.  I am proud to be an American.  Happy Memorial Day.

Mommy trying to change the sheets on the bed and daddy's idea of helping.......making Avery a fort with the sheets!  These two are a mess!  Oh well, we had fun!
Avery at Lowe's on Saturday building her Ice Cream Truck piggy bank!
Getting some pool time in!  She had to wait for mommy to get back from the doctor.......those darn hives will not leave me alone.
Special bath in the "big" tub!  She liked taking a bath in mommy and daddy's bathtub.
Saturday night we had dinner over at the Strickland's!  What great company.  The girls played, we had a wonderful dinner, and then the girls cried because they wanted to have a sleep over.  A little bit too young for that!  Too cute!
Avery and Isabella, my cousin's little girl, eating Fruit Loops and laughing the day away!
Avery and Jaden, Avery's new little friend, again laughing the day away!
Love this picture.  She had just woke up and she looks like she is holding her hand across her heart!  So patriotic!
 Beautiful girl!
 Watching the air plane!
Today Avery went swimming with Ella at Grandpa's house!  Two little hot rods!
 Little fishy!
Avery trying out Ashley's goggles!  Silly girl!
Grandpa lives less than fifteen minutes from our house and this was Avery less than five minutes away from Grandpas!  She is one tired little toot!

Lubbock Home Sweet Home

Last weekend we headed to Lubbock!  I was so very excited and pretty much had something planned every hour of everyday!  We got to see Jenn (one of my college roommates, bridesmaid in our wedding, and such a good friend), we got to see my babies (Ella and Stance who I keep from the time they were both very little), we got to visit with family, go to graduation, walk the campus, and soak up the Scarlet and Black air.  If you can't tell I love Lubbock and yes we could move there.  Most who are reading this probably think we are crazy, but we are die hard Tech fans, always have and always will.  It was so nice to be somewhere so familiar and feel at home.  Jason and I were so involved at Tech while we were there, it just feels right to be in Lubbock!  It is one of my happy places!  Our initial intentions were to attend Chelsea's Graduation, one of my sister's closest friend's and dear to our family, but then it was a bonus to go a little early and visit with friends and family!
Little Miss Priss sitting in bed watching cartoons on momma's iPad!  What a life!
Loved the decorations at the new Overton Convention Center.  Lubbock is moving on up!
Jenn, one of my dearest friends.  I could have sat and talked with her all day!  I miss this girl and can't wait to see her the next time!
Avery loved Jenn too!  She wanted to sit in her lap while we ate breakfast!
Student Union
Our little model!  It will be cool to have this picture her freshman year at Tech!  I am already planning.......however if her dream is something else, then we will support that.  Momma will just cry for a bit then get over it!
I loved this picture!

Daddy helping her ring the bell!
Go Tech!
Really to play at the park!
Sweet girl!
Looking through the net of the Legacy Play Village!  I helped build this with Tri Delta many many years ago!  And now my daughter is playing here.  Crazy!
Avery going down the really big slide!  No fear in this child.
The minute I saw Stance and Ella I just cried.  They have grown up so much and Stance is such a big boy!  These babies will always have a special place in my heart.
Love this family!  They took such good care of me all my years at Tech!
Avery waiting to eat at Orlando's!  And her baby too!
Our family!
Silly girl!
Happy Graduation Day!
So excited and happy to share her special day!
Taking in all there is to see at the United Spirit Arena!  When we got of the car, Avery said, "Oh daddy ook, castle!"  She thought it was Mickey's castle!  Silly girl!
Chelsea's little brother, Landon, and Ave hit it off.  Here they are entertaining one another by watching The Winnie Pooh Movie in the box!
Congratulations sweet girl!
Love our little Red Raider!
Chelsea and Barrett's Graduation party!  We had so much fun meeting all of their families and making some new friends!  What a great celebration!  And what a great way to spend an extended weekend in Lubbock!

Our little fishy

We are so proud of our little fishy!  She is such a big girl and she will be ready to start her swimming lessons in one week!  What a fun summer we are going to have!

Chihuly at the Dallas Arboretum

May 13th I had the opportunity to attend an event at the Dallas Arboretum hosted by Wells Fargo, my moms company.  My mom took my sister and I and we had a great time.  I have to say we missed the boys though.  We walked the grounds without any crowds and I captured some great photos of the exhibit.  The artist, Dale Chihuly, is an incredible artist and his glass work is breath taking.  The exhibit runs through the Fall and I would encourage everyone to go see it.  We enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and the music from the Dallas String Quartet.  It was a great night!  Thank you Gigi and Papaw for keeping my sweet angel!

 My favorite piece!
