Surgery Time

On December 27, 2012 we drove the dreaded drive to Plano Presbyterian to admit Avery into the hospital for her surgery.  She had to have her tonsils and adenoids removed due to many things; she was ninety percent obstruction, sleep apnea, and would stop breathing during the night while sleeping.  She would wake up grumpy, take 3 to 4 hour naps, wake up grumpy, go to bed at 8:30, and still wake up grumpy in the morning in which we had to wake her up.  It has been exhausting and slowly getting worse.  She would set her Angel Care monitor nightly so something had to be done.

When we got there I had a knot in my stomach and throat but knew I had to keep it together for her sake.  She did great until we had to take her earrings, bow, and pajamas off and put her in her gown which she told us was a towel!  Silly girl!  After they gave her the "happy juice" she started to calm down from all the drama of changing cloths.  We had told her that we were having a party at the "doctor" and that mommy and daddy were going to sleep over with her at the "doctor".  When they came to get her, I could feel the emotions starting to erupt.  She looked at me and said, "go with me mommy" and the tears started rolling.  I gave her one more fist bump and she went right with the anesthesiologist.  No tears from her, just a look of being unsure why we were "going to the party" with her.  Once she was out of my sight I lost it for about thirty minutes.  Longest hour of my life.  We were able to watch the screen in the waiting room which updated us on her status by her patient number.  Jas and I walked down to the gift shop and picked up a few things and grabbed breakfast.  We no more than sat down and here came her doctor saying she was finished and did great!  All I thought was let me see my baby.  He took us right back and we never left her side again.  Seeing her in recovery was pitiful but I just wanted her to know that we were there and she was ok.  She had already began to start drinking which was great and we were in our room in 30 minutes.  Wham bam thank you ma'am.

This was Avery for most of the day Thursday.  Rested a lot and was out.  This broke my heart.
That night she tried to eat and got sick so we got her cleaned up and changed and she was ready to play with her doctor's kit.  She took care of her bear!  Feeling a little bit better.
We were ready to go Friday morning.  Mommy and Daddy were super antsy and Avery enjoyed the nonstop cartoons!
And again, all the balloons that she made sure we knew were coming with us!  Silly girl.  Glad this is all behind us and hopefully she will feel better and start resting!

Happy 1st Birthday Marley

December 22 we celebrated with one of my other best friends as her little girl turned ONE!  Marley is so precious and the tiniest thing you have ever seen!  Avery loved her!  I was so happy to share in her day and take pictures for their family!
Sweet birthday baby!

It's a Strike

Jason and I took Avery bowling for the first time right before Christmas!  She had a ball!  Definitely something I seeing us doing more often.  And of course I take pictures of all the firsts!  Gigi and Pawpaw tagged along too!
Getting ready to go!
Using the ramp and pushing the ball down the lane!
Waiting for it to be her turn.  She stood like this between every frame!
Picking what ball she wanted to use!
Her little shoes!

Baby Grayson Haney

On December 20, 2012 Grayson Reese Haney made his grand entrance into the world.  His momma and daddy have been waiting on him for a very long time and their prayers where finally answered!  He is so precious and I am so happy for one of my best friends Stephanie!

Christmas Cheer

Ave and I at the Prestonwood Baptist Church "The Gift of Christmas" show.  It was awesome and will be an event we attend every year from here on out.  I was really bummed that Jas was not with us.
The family (missing my sweet husband)  We meet my Aunt Kim, Uncle Wayne, cousin Jennifer and her husband Blake and Gammie too!
The show was way longer than I expected and Avery was spent.  When we got home I had to let our dog Maddie out and then feed her.  This is where Avery fell asleep; on the rug in front of the refrigerator.
She was so excited about seeing the lights!  If you live in the area go to Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church and check out the "Light up the Night" light show and presentation.  Free hot chocolate and hot cider.

Girls Weekend

This was not suppose to be a girls weekend but with Jason and Dad at work it was just us four!  We missed them terribly but it was a fun weekend.  We stayed at the Gaylord Texan, which was fabulous, and then saw ICE and did the North Pole Express in Grapevine!  Thank you Mom and Dad for a great weekend!
Another pose from Miss Diva!

Missing Daddy.  :(

So cute in her jacket!
Mommy and Ave.  She was already cold!

Avery was quite fascinated with her breath!!!!!  She kept saying it is smoke!

Giant gingerbread house at the Gaylord.
Inside the gingerbread house!  A candy store!

Thank you Nana and Papa for a great weekend!
Jennifer (my cousin), Ave, and Mommy
So glad Jennifer got to come with us!  We had fun!  Really enjoyed it!
Getting her ticket punched!  Lindsey asked him, "Where's the special word????" (like the movie)  His response, "Honey, this is Grapevine, not Hollywood!"  So funny!
Mrs. Clause
Santa giving her the "The First Gift of Christmas", a bell!

He had probably 20 singing animals that he had synchronized together to make a great song!  Really cool, but who has time to do something like that!  The life of the retired!
