The first of December Jason traveled to New York City for work and on Friday I flew out and met him. We had dinner with one of the doctors he works with and two other reps and then we extended our trip to see all the sights! When I say it was so much fun, I really mean that it was an awesome time spent with my hubby in a beautiful city. I was overwhelmed at first by the crowds, the cars, and all the people but then I soon was running into the roads and walking fast! We saw the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the Empire State Building, the tree, Rockefeller Center, Macy's, the decorated windows, St. Paul's Cathedral, Central Park, Bryant Park, Time Square, St. Peter's Church, Statue of Liberty, Battery Park, and the list goes on and on. And yes, we walked a million miles, our legs were tired, and we tried the subway twice. That's all. Awesome trip and much needed time away!
I came home to this the day before I left.....Jas had left that morning! Love him!

We ate this for a very dear friend of ours; it was her birthday and this is her favorite cheese cake! We wish we could have shared one with her.
Yummy pizza at a very cool pizza place on Stone Street. No tourists around. We followed some locals!
On the way to the Memorial and Museum
Once you enter, you are essentially in the towers. You can see the original structure outline still on the ground, the wall that holds back the Hudson River, and the unspeakable artifacts that have been placed in the museum from ground zero. Some of the things in the museum that I could not take images of are a glass floor in Tower 1 with an auditorium that echos the voices of the families that lost loved ones, personal artifacts found in and around ground zero, and actual store fronts that were cut out of buildings to show the reality of the amount of dust that fell in those moments. The museum could not have been any better and it truly allows those who remember so vividly to revisit those emotions and feelings felt 13 years ago.
Each tile represents a victim lost in 9/11.
The actual stairs from one of the escape routes that day. The picture below shows you the location.
Stunning quilt dedicated to those brave men and women of 9/11.
A better picture of the stairwell that victims ran down trying to run for their lives.
Unbelievable force.
Headed to Battery Park.
My love!
Statue of Liberty with a water taxi! How appropriate!
And I found a TJ Maxx's in New York! Score!
Yes, I went to both locations!
