Happy 2 Month Birthday

Two months have come and gone and yet it still feels like I just had our sweet baby Ansley Grace.  She is sensitive, vocal and very alert, watching everything you do.  Just like Avery she loves to cuddle and to be held.  I feel like her second month has been full of packing and dealing with the house stuff.  All I can think about is being done with all the signing, closing, packing talk and just rock my baby and play with Avery.  It can be so consuming and stressful.  They are not little long and I want to enjoy it.  She started sleeping through the night which was awesome because I was reaching my past exhausted point.  And it was perfect timing with the move and our upcoming vacation to Colorado.  She also started smiling at us.... ALOT!  I love this point because by her reacting to me I know she recognizes our voices and knows who we are.  I'm sure that happens much earlier, but her smile reassures me of that!  I love watching her little face while she is sleeping and when she smiles while having a dream.  She is pure innocence and I become overwhelmed with how blessed our family is to have her when I look at her.  I find myself wiping alot of tears!  But that is with both girls.  I remember when Avery first called me Momma....I just burst into happy tears.  It is the greatest title I will ever hold and I thank God each night for choosing Jason and I as Avery and Ansley's parents.  To trust us with these two precious girls is an honor and we will do our best to raise them in the way of the Lord.  The thought of creation is amazing to me and to see our two girls that we help create will always be a miracle to me!  I love the dynamic that Ansley has added to our family and we made it over the hump!

Summer 2013

Well, I have to say that I have not felt like Mom of the Year this summer.  It has been too hot to go out and do anything with a brand new baby and I feel like Avery has been cheated.  She is used to being a pool rat all summer with Momma hanging out with her friends at the pool and this year that all came to a halt.  Everyone keeps telling me she will not remember this but I carry guilt forever.  I've got to stop being so hard on myself.  I will be honest with you, adjusting to having two children is a challenge (I would not have it any other way) and it does take time to learn how to manage your schedule.  I think the hardest thing for me has been feeling like I can't give both Avery and Ansley 100% of me all the time.  Not sure if that is even doable.  I feel like we have been a prisoner of our own home due to the heat, the move, and packing.  Poor baby girl has had her toys packed and her life flipped upside down.  I am definitely ready to slow down, settle into our new home, find a new church, have some play dates, and get back to what we consider normal.  Before we can do that we have to move this Wednesday and then we leave for our vacation to Colorado the following weekend.  I know.  Bad timing right.  Who would have thought the two things would have fallen so close together.  Then we have Avery's open house for her new school the Monday we get back and then she starts school that Tuesday.  I pray she does well and does not ask about her previous school; which we both are going to miss terribly.  Our family is excited about our new adventure to Fort Worth, but we will miss life here in McKinney.  Summer 2013 has blessed us with a beautiful little girl but brought many health issues for my Dad.  He has been in the hospital three times this summer and is currently being treated for two pulmonary embolisms and a blood clot in his leg.  All we can say is that the good Lord has watched over him and given him a purpose to overcome the problems.  He is very lucky to be here today with the blood clots and going into a heart attack right before bypass surgery.  I praise Him for wrapping His arms around my Dad and protecting him.  Like I said before, normalcy would be nice right about now.  An uneventful Fall would be nice!

Twinkies.  Ready for a swim party!
My big girl who will always be my baby!
 Happy girl!

Happy 1 Month Birthday

Happy 1 Month Sweet Ansley
This post is a month late but better late than never.  Right?  Ansley is such a lovable baby.  She loves to cuddle and to be held....spoiled much!  Her one month check-up was great; A+ on developmental and motor skills.  Once her report card is unpacked I will put her stats on here.  She is wearing newborn clothes and diapers and is strictly nursed.  She eats about two ounces at each feeding.  She takes great naps and is on a three to three and half hour eating schedule.  I did Baby Wise with Avery and it worked wonders so we have Ansley on the schedule as well.  Her pedi said she was growing beautifully and putting weight on nicely!  She is not a fan of her baths and does not like it when I stop feeding her to burp......both produce some pretty loud screams.  She knows how to work the system to a tee.....she will roll her lip out every time she cries and it is the most pitiful thing you have ever seen.  It breaks my heart to see her do it.  When it comes to the car she knows when it stops, she knows when you stop rocking in the chair, and she knows when you sit down.  She loves it outside just like Avery did.  We did learn that Ansley had two abnormal PKU tests come back showing that she had something going on with her bloodwork.  The hematologist at Children's informed us that it is nothing to be concerned about right now but told us a few things to look for and if any of those things happen that we would need to bring her in for more testing.  The abnormality is so rare that there is no name for it.  I was a wreck when the doctor called but calmed down once I learned that it was going to be fine.  At four weeks I think we have made it over the hump.  We are getting a little bit more sleep, we are managing our time better, and loving having two precious healthy little girls.  God has truly blessed us through two little miracles we call Avery and Ansley!

Life with Two

Well it has been a whole month that we have had our sweet baby Ansley Grace in our arms and we are so in love.  Avery has to kiss her first thing in the morning and all throughout the day.  She will come in the room where ever I am, either feeding or rocking her, and say "Momma, is baby Ansley sleeping or awake?".  She knows not to touch if I say she is sleeping.  Rule #1 in the Glover house!!!!!!  The love I see between them is amazing and I am so excited that they are so close in age and will be such good friends.  It is funny to think about life before Ansley and to know how we feel now.  I feel more complete as a family and I am so happy that Avery has someone to play with in a year or so.
As for Mom and Dad, I am going to say it now.....two is harder than one.  At least for right now.  In the sense of knowing what to do as a mom it is easier, but juggling two and making sure your giving each 100% individually wears on you.  Literally today I feel like I have made it over the hump.  And a lot of it could have something to do with selling our house, buying a new house, then our sellers backing out, then new buyers buying it the very next day, my Dad having Bypass surgery, me worried out my heart due to all the crazy family history, then Ansley having an anomaly come back on her PKU test twice which led us to get advice from a hematologist, the dog hurting her leg (now her nickname is tripod), and worrying about several friends going through some really rough stuff.....not to mention bringing home a new baby!  All I can say is that I have done more praying than my usual and turned many things over to God here lately.  I am the first to say to someone, "everything happens for a reason" but I tell you it is hard to swallow when trying to apply that to your own life.  For now I am trying to savor every minute of snuggling Ansley because I learned quickly with Avery that they do not sit still for long.  When I am nursing I am in awe of how much the girls look alike and how much I have seen Avery grow up in just the past few weeks.  It makes me sad but happy at the same time to think of all the fun they will have together.
I will post Ansley ONE month post later this weekend.  I have a few random things to add:
  1. Never move with a newborn.  You would think we would have learned our lesson the first time.  We moved to McKinney from Houston when Ave was two months.  And yet we do it again with Ansley.
  2. I have realized blogging is therapy for me.  I love having a place to share memories, thoughts, and keep track of the both our girls!
  3. Turn your worry into prayer.  I repeat this to myself daily at least twenty times a day.  Why must I worry about things I have no control over.
  4. Take in every minute of your babies being little.  Avery says some of the cutest things and I wish I could bottle her personality up and keep it this way forever!
  5. I love my girls to both smell like Baby Magic.  It is the BEST smell!
  6. Take one day at a time.  Planning ahead is only going to make me feel like a failure if I don't achieve everything on my to do list.  So don't make a to do list.  Problem solved.  Do what you can.
  7. After taking a ton of pictures, upload them onto the computer.  Don't wait till you have four hundred pictures needing editing before posting.  Word to the wise.
  8. Take just as many pictures of the second baby as you did the first.  Only fair!
  9. And lastly take time for yourself.
I know your probably reading these thinking, ok it's 11:40pm and she needs to go to bed.  No, I have a lot of time to think about things that make my life easier.  Random? Yes.  But I have made mental notes that last four weeks of things that are a must! Now onto the good stuff.....pictures!

Sweet rolls!  Getting rid of jaundice.
 Girls!  We run this!
Avery went fishing with Nana and Papa.  The trip ended with her hair getting reeled into her rod and a yellow jacket stinging her on the shoulder.  None of which was Nana and Papa's fault, she just happen to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time.  Momma felt helpless in the truck nursing!  Awesome fishing trip!  Griswold's at it again!
Hotel living.....the girls have stayed in two hotels in the last month.  One for Jenn's wedding and the other to visit Daddy while he was at training in Rockwall.  Super nice resort and we must visit there again!
Big sister taking care of baby!  Love it!
First bath!  And she loved it!
Just hanging out!

Our Lil' Firecrackers

July 4th was a beautiful day and the weather made it so enjoyable.  We went to Downtown McKinney to watch the parade and the breeze was perfect.  Yes, there was a breeze in July!  Avery loved it and every time she saw a firetruck she started singing "I want to ride on a firetruck!".  After the parade we headed to lunch and then went to Jason's grandfathers house to go swimming!  We ended the night with our neighborhood get together in Craig Ranch and watched the firework show from the back of the truck.  I hope everyone had a great July 4th!
 Sweet Ansley

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day was extra special this year for Jason because he got to hold both his girls!  It was a low key day and that evening we ate over at his mom's house.  My Dad was working so we did not get to celebrate with him which I hated, but after his surgery we will celebrate both my Dad and Jason.  It doesn't matter what day it's on just as long as we are all together.
God could not have planned a more perfect father for our two girls and I am so thankful he is my husband and the Daddy to Avery and Ansley.  We are truly blessed to have Jason in our lives.
