Alliance Air Show and Festival

This past weekend we went to the Alliance Air Show which is only about 10-15 minutes from our house.  It was the first for all of us, well to a big air show at least, and I have to say we will probably go every year.  It was really cool to see the planes, the shows, and all the vintage aircraft that is currently restored and being maintained in honor of our veterans.  However the pilots driving those planes are CRAZY.  No amount of money would get me in a plane doing what they did this weekend.  And if the money got me in the plane and I survived I would probably never ride in a plane again.  It made me sick to my stomach just watching.  Afterwards we grabbed some lunch in Roanoke, took a few pictures, and met up with our neighbors at our Subdivision Fall Festival.  Gigi and Papaw went with us and really enjoyed the show too!

Daddy and Ave

 I'm dizzy just watching!
 No thanks.

The ridiculous smoke from an 18-wheeler with a jet mounted to the back of it.  Really?
Saving the ears.  I wanted the kids to be able to hear in ten years!

 Baby girl was tired.
They did a reenactment of Pearl Harbor that was really good.  When the explosives went off I jumped about five feet, scared Ansley, and she started screaming.  Oops!  Someone should have warned me.

 Love this picture.
And the explosives that scared me half to death.

 Sweet girl!  Protecting those ears!
Firetruck, Firetruck, I want to ride on a Firetruck!  This picture is for MJ!
The truck that made all that smoke!
Ave was not happy that we would not pay like $500 for her to jump on the bounce houses.  Not really that much but you get the point.  You should not have to pay to jump on those things......rant over.
Flying the plane Gigi got her!
Jas actually saw this helicopter fly over our house Sunday evening.

Appreciating Fall

Normally by this time I have at least listened to Christmas music a few times.....funny though this year I have just been savoring Fall!  I've thought about Christmas a hundred times; where to put my trees in this house, what holiday markets are around here, etc.  But for now I have loved the cooler weather, wearing jeans and boots, and drinking pumpkin everything!  Maybe with age I am starting to appreciate each season because it seems that each year gets faster and faster.  Especially with kids.  We love our neighbors and the girls literally play every night together.  We've done dinner a couple of nights and are planning to do several Halloween/Fall things this weekend.  Happy Fall!
Wuwu and Ave carved a pumpkin!
Made Ansley's hand and foot print for her shadow box!

Added Ansley's pumpkin to the stairs, made some yummy treats for Avery for after school snacks, and love that we are getting cool enough weather that the girls can wear their boots!

Tech Homecoming 2013

Last weekend I took the girls and my parents to Lubbock for Homecoming.  Jason unfortunately had to stay behind due to work and we missed him terribly.  Avery had so much fun.  We got to see so many of my friends from my college days and it made me miss Lubbock that much more.  My parents watched the girls while I danced/cheered the first two quarters and they did excellent.  It got a little warm mid day but overall it was a great game!  We won which made it even better!  After the game we grabbed some Spanky's fried cheese and called it a night.  The girls where exhausted and this momma fell asleep at 7:30pm.  I thought I would be as stiff as a popsicle stick the next day but surprisingly enough I felt great!  No soreness!  I did go a little easier than normal due to the fact I was only four months out from having a baby!  Not 20 anymore!!!!!!!  It was a great trip!

 Happy girl!

Bonfire with my girls!  Missing daddy.

 New score board......pretty nice!

Hard to believe this young man was in the 5th grade when I started keeping him and his brother!  Now he is a sophomore at Tech and his brother is a Junior in high school.  What a polite and handsome young man he has grown to be.  I know his momma and daddy are proud!

Southlake Oktoberfest

We went to the Southlake Oktoberfest this weekend and had a really good time.  Before heading to the festival we attended one of Jason's cousin's two little girls birthday party which was outside.  I however did not win mother of the year because my daughter did not have a jacket.  Awesome!  Another Mom loaned her a jacket so she would not freeze.  Good one Ashley!  She got to shoot a bow and arrow, play horse shoes, and play at the park.  The best thing about it was that the girls requested you bring an unwrapped gift for charity rather than bringing a birthday gift.  How awesome is that.  They donate the gifts to a Foster program.  I love seeing children give rather than receive.  Avery and I prayed over our gift we took, Ave had a hard time giving it away because it was something she liked, but after reminding her that she is a very blessed little girl she parted ways.  I was proud of her.  We prayed that the gift find a special little girl and put a smile on her face come Christmas morning.  Gigi and Papaw joined us and the weather was perfect....minus the rain at the very end right after getting the girls in the car.  It was 55 degrees with a chilly breeze which threw us right into jackets and UGGS!  Love Fall and everything that comes with it; tall boots, scarves, Pumpkin Spice Latte (thank you Lindsey for getting me hooked), sweaters, multicolored leaves, pumpkins, Fall candles, and on and on.  We are loving our new area and it seems like there is something going on every weekend!
I LOVE this picture!  It reminds me of Ave so much and she is so happy here!  I could eat her up!

She loves riding in sister's seat!  Time to buy the second seat so they both have one!

She loved the helicopter ride!  While waiting in line for the ride her and this little boy started holding hands....the next thing I knew he wanted her to ride with him!  He later told the volunteer worker that she was his girlfriend.  Hold on lil' man......she is three.  They laughed so loud the entire ride.  It was cute, but I may have to keep a sharp eye on her!

Ave did all six bounce houses and had so much fun!
