Today we were invited to go to church with some new friends. It is one of the doctors Jason will be working with in his territory. Him and his wife are so very nice and down to earth! Very refreshing. The sermon today was very eye opening. It is labeled #struggles and is a five sermon series.....and although I have never used a hastag for any reason on a social media sight, quite frankly I do not get why people do, I found that the bottom line of the sermon was addressing something that I sometimes do. Everyone does it and there are those who would never admit it. I will leave you with this.....
"Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don't have." Ecclesiastes 6:9
All we see on Facebook and other sights is only what we want people to see.....a new car, new whatever. I have been very open about struggles in my own life through my blog. It is my way of communicating. However, I still find myself thinking everyone I see on Facebook has the perfect kids, the perfect everything. Get real. Let's start relating to one another and stop being unauthentic. Jason and I had a great discussion on our way home and I wish it would be easy to walk away from Facebook.
The other verse that struck me was this.....
"For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast." Proverbs 15:15
