Avery take TWO

Two Ashleys, two Averys, and two Nanas!  Small world!  Every time we have a break or a holiday us Ashley's talk about getting together.  And then life happens and we run out of time.  So this Spring Break we made it a must to have a play date for both the girls and catch up for us moms.  The girls played really well and Ashley and I really enjoyed talking.  We fed the ducks, played in the dirt (sorry Kyle), and pulled everything out of the playroom.  We had a great time!  Thank you Ashley and Avery for having us over!
First order of business, warm up to each other.  They looked at each other for the longest.
 Avery G. found the books.
 Sweet Avery B.
 Taking turns!

 Avery showing me her stick.
Clay pushing the bread off the shore.  He is such a doll!
Avery B. looking at Avery G. wondering what her obsession with that fishing pole is.......she took it everywhere.
Pulling dirt out of the flower beds.
Avery B. showing her how to ride Big Brother's bike!
She panicked after she realized she could not get out.  Hilarious!
Sweet girls!
Big smile!  After this picture we went outside to head to my parents house and Avery decided to run from me.  (Her new little game she finds hilarious and really doesn't get that she is upsetting me.)  Instead she ran right into the back of Ashley B.'s car.  At least she comes by it honestly.  If there is an accident to be found, it will be found by me or her!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas Blooms

The flowers were incredible at the Arboretum.  The tulips were stunning.  If you get a chance to go, now is the time.  Take a picnic and sit out in the sun and relax.  My kind of day!

Pictures at the Arboretum

So we loved the Dallas Arboretum so much last year that we are back again for Avery's 2nd Birthday pictures.  It is so bitter sweet seeing her looking like a big girl.  It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.  Meredith Terrell from MPrint Photography did them again this year and although these are the ones I took, I know hers will be ten times better.  She set the bar high last year!

I was really nervous about the day because it was just me and Avery, daddy had to work and the last time we went to have her pictures taken she was deathly afraid of the camera.  Who knew!  So I wanted her to number one cooperate and two to behave for my sake.  It was not until the end that she started getting stir crazy, which is to be expected, but in the back of your mind you are still saying, "why can't you just be still?"  She did three outfits and in the week leading up to the pictures we practiced changing our clothes several times.  I wanted her to do this because if not she would have freaked out and wanted to keep the Minnie shirt on.  I tried to plan well in advance.
Precious girl!  She wore this tutu last year and it worked again for her theme this year!

She loved all the flowers.  She kept saying "Avery's flowers"!
 Smelling them......
 Kissing them......
 And hugging them.......
 Precious girl
Change two......She did not want to sit on this bench.  Poor Meredith chased her around a lot.
 Love this little face.

 Helping Meredith change her lens.

Looking at the airplane in the sky.

And change three.....well this is all I got.  By this time, I had broke a sweat, I wishing daddy was there to help, and Avery did not want the camera in her face or pointed in her direction anymore.  We ended the day, just the two of us, on a bench eating a Strawberry Chill!  We were both exhausted.  Oh, that was after her blankie went MIA and mommy frantically ran around trying to find it.  Found it laying on the ground untouched and unharmed.  Thank you Lord.  At the end of the day I know we got some good pictures and she did better than I expected.  This is a tough age.  That is all I have to say.

Pinterest Addiction

I have had to take a break from Pinterest projects because I was wearing myself out.  So this last project was a team effort.  Jason did all the work and then I had a friend make the lettering.  I am trying to just enjoy posting things and not making things.  I love this project though.  Avery makes all kinds of stuff at Miss Holley's and church and I wanted an organized way to display her "Masterpieces".  Refrigerator clutter makes me crazy.  I am pleased with how it turned out.

Sip and See for Baby Audrey

The newest addition to the Dill Family is sweet baby Audrey.  She is a doll and big sister Sophie is so very proud.  What a great picture of the Nix/Dill ladies.
Sophie finally getting that cupcake she had been eye-balling!
Precious baby Liv was there too!
And look at all the girls.  I think Avery was freaked out by all the cameras.  So much so that she thought she needed her paci and started crying.  One of the other moms offered a sucker to their daughter if she would just sit still.  The other little girl didn't want the sucker, but Avery sure heard the offer.  After the picture she ask me "sucker???????".
So luckily mommy found a sucker.  Look at that face of accomplishment.
 The "I won" face.
And the "I didn't do anything wrong" face.

Thank you Amber and Sophie for letting us celebrate your new addition with you!  We had so much fun and the food that Amber Mahon made was delicious.

Emma Russey

My sweet friend from high school is having her first baby.  She is having a little girl named Emma.  I got to celebrate with her at her shower and I am so excited for her and her family.  We can't wait to meet Miss Emma!  Lara looked great and was glowing with excitement.  I know she will be an excellent mom!

From Bearcats to Mommies!  So happy for you sweet friend.

Happy 22 Month Birthday

Avery is 22 Months old which seems crazy to me.  I am already furiously planning her party and wishing it was still her 1st birthday.  I don't know how many times I have said, "Oh, we have her 1 year pictures this week.....".  It just doesn't seem like time should go by this fast.  This month has been super busy.  Daddy has been working a lot and we have literally had something going on every weekend.  Avery is changing each and every day.  This month had a motto which said, "this too shall pass".  Avery teaches me patience and understanding each and every day.  And I pray to God each and every night for more and more of those two things; to be a good example for her and guide her down the right path.  I do know she is under 2, but it is never to early to start teaching them to be caring and sweet.  From the moment she was born I knew she would be strong willed, which is like me, but at this age it can really be a challenge.  She has discovered the word NO, I do it, and she thinks she can do everything (from putting her shoes on to putting her pants on, getting her tooth brush out of the drawer, to opening the door for Sissy, to opening the refrigerator).  Well, you get my point.  I know that her personality will be an advantage as she gets older and she will be able speak up for herself, but right now I would only like pleases, thank yous, and yes ma'ams.  She is a very polite little thing.  I have to remind her sometimes what to say, but just the other day I held the door for her to go into the house and she turned around super sassy and in her thick accent said, "tank you mommy".  It is in those moments you know you are doing something right.  She is a Daddy's girl through and through.  I love that though because Daddy misses her terribly when he is gone.  I know when he comes home and she runs to him, that all is right in his world.  She talks about him everyday and I also include daddy in everything I say and do.  What a lucky girl to have Jason as her daddy!  In organizing all my pictures, I realized just what a busy month it has been because I barely picked up my camera.  Notice only a few pictures this post.

Jason and I both feel so priviliged to be Avery's mommy and daddy.  We love her more than life itself. Almost two years ago changed our life forever and it only got better.  Becoming Avery's mom has made me think differently and want different things.  I want this world to be better for her future which sounds crazy but when you are a parent, you want nothing but the best for your little ones.  I fear I will cry in writing the next two monthly posts because I just want my baby to stay a baby.

Oh, and one more thing.  YOU HAVE NO PACI ANYMORE!  It is gone!  And you did awesome our lil' rockstar.

Happy 22 Month Birthday sweet Avery

Not again

Well here I am again.  Behind and playing catch up.  It has taken me forever to upload my pictures, edit them, and organize into folders.  But I completed that and now I need to post everything.  You know it is a bad sign when your husband asks you to update the blog!  Bless his heart.  We have used the blog to stay up to date with everything our precious Avery has been up too and I have fallen behind big time.  Sorry sweetie and to everyone else who follows us.  Not a lot of extra time these days!  Good thing is that we have been busy so I have a lot to post!
